    Hey guys,

This is my first post here, but I've been lurking for a while. I recently inherited my dad's '86 VFR750F, and I'm looking for some parts. I've been able to find pretty much everything I need except for the headlight housing and the tail body section.

Anybody have either for sale or know a good place to look??

Thanks in advance, and the info on this forum has been crazy helpful already.

not sure what you're after.. the upper fairing? the upper fairing stay? Get on www.bikebandit .com and look the parts up so as to give us an accurate description.

I have a spare red white and blue tail body but the tabs that the bolts go through are cracked. Let me know if you're interested.

yeah, it's the tail body that's damaged. When my parents moved from SC to VA, the idiot movers tried to pick the bike up by the tail body, and it split in half. I posted the original thread before I really started digging around. The only source I've found for replacements so far is VFRchuck, and I don't think I want to jump on that defrauding train. I just got some Plastex to attempt repairing the split and the mounting tabs, which are completely broken off.

^thatdavidkid, if I can't make the Plastex work, I'll def. be in touch.

the other issue is the plastic headlight housing that the glass lens is glued into. On the back of the housing, where the two brass pins from the body fit to secure the headlight, one of the mounting points on the housing is broken out, and I was unable to remove the piece that was stuck to the pin without completely destroying it. So now there is a gaping hole in the back of the headlight housing, and I'm concerned about moisture, and the lack of one of only two mounting points.
I'm thinking about trying to patch it with the Plastex.
    What do you guys think?
and does anyone have the housing if i can't repair this one?

The housings show up on eBay from time to time. Let me know on the tail, the mounting tabs are damaged like I said, but they're closer to broken off than just cracked. I'd say it's completely usable though.

I have an 83 Headlight housing and tail unit, actually a whole bike minus the engine I'm parting out, if you can determine if the 83 750 ones will fit I have em, undamaged and un molested.

Hey guys, sorry it's been a while since I checked in here. It's been crazy busy at work. I appreciate all the help everyone's given. I found a headlight, and I decided to repair my tail section with Plastex. With the number of cracks that are in that thing, by the time i'm done, I should be a master of Plastex :)

Thanks again, you guys have been awesome!
