    Hey all,

Wanted to update my latest purchase for the 01. I have ben looking for a high mount exhaust for the viffer for a while. On the 98 I had a Micron high mount carbon fiber unit that I loved. The sound was just right and it required no maintenance other than repacking after 50K miles. So I began the search for about three mounts I kept checking the boards, craigslist and ebay. Finally I let the search go international and saw this GPR unit made form INOX stainless. for 393.00 US. Took the gamble and ordered the unit, from the time of purchase it took seven days to get to me from Milan Italy (77.00 cost DHL). Simple install and the fit finish are very nice. I could have upgraded to the carbon can but I didn't want to pay the extra for an unknown manufacturer. Sound is throaty and not too loud, I can barely hear it at 60MPH. Install took about 40 minutes with some cutting to make the correct width Al spacer. Very satisfied with the product and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for the high mount option without having to cobble it together at a custom speed shop.

I should add that the strap holding the can is a yosh piece I had from an old can. The one that came with the exhaust wasn't the prettiest. Simple chrome band with a black rubber grommet.

That looks pretty damn nice, does it get hot by your feet/leg since its so high? It looks like it sits so high maybe the plastic might get burned up or melt?

Carbon is the way to go or at least a TI can-both cool off real fast. Carbon may make better sound too. SS is just too dam heavy and holds the heat in.:laser::scubalong::fencing:

Looks like the next mod I will be doing at some point this year. I use textile soft saddle bags when I travel around every now and then, you guys reckon I would have any issues with a high mount exhaust?

Sure the AL spacer is the element symbol for aluminum. It came with the can just had to be trimmed to make it line up right with the tail. Hope this helps… V

You might have an issue with soft bags if they touch the can. It does get hot during an extended run, the material may not have the heat tolerance to withstand it.

In hindsight I would get the carbon fiber if I ordered it today. Very happy with the quality of the standard can, carbon fiber probably just as good, definitely better for heating and cooling.
