I just graduated college and as I was riding home from the ceremony my BMW K75 held a meltdown.. literally. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise because my search for a suitable replacement landed me a great deal on a 99 VFR with 20K miles and immaculate condition for a great price.
I have to say, I considered myself a BMW loyalist, but after riding the VFR home last night I am completely hooked.

Congratulations. The '99 is a great bike. I bought one back in '99, but ended up selling it to a friend of mine. That way I know where it is. I now ride an '07. Welcome to the forum.

Good choice, I've put 15,000 miles on my 99 in less than two years and I'll likely never get rid of it, its just too damn much fun. Be sure to upgrade the stock charging system, as that's only reason the bike has ever let me down. I got mine just before my last year of college, I looked at BMW's but I'm not sure I'm old enough...

So what melted on your K75? That engine is one of the most understressed and bulletproof engines made by BMW.
