I'd probably kill my fork, I can already nearly bottom them out on a hard sudden stop. I really need to swap the forks to something nicer. RC51 forks sounds mighty nice about now....

set the kick stand and dismount your bike about 10 feet before the limit line. Stand squarely in the middle of the black square. Start doing jumping jacks - make sure to stomp your feet real hard while you do this. It helps if you yell and scream "I'm Henry the 8th I am" as you do this. Eventually a neighbor will ask you if you need help. Accept the offer and get back on your bike. Explain to the person you will do this every time you get stuck at this red light. With their assistance, go threw the red light when it's safe. That's all you have to do. Now you may have to do this a few times.

The resident will be so freaked out, he will call and request the intersection be checked because he is afraid of the guy who started doing jumping jacks and singing in the middle of the road.

This might net you the attention you do not want. Sometimes they get really nasty about lunatics and you get a free stay at a nice "resort" for a few weeks.

1st report the ones you have problems with, maybe they will fix them. Write down the day and time and method of the report.
2nd - Try positioning yourself differently over the sensor, if you can see it. Generally positioning yourself inside the sensor circle or rectangle seems to work best for me.
3rd - If the light is somewhere where you can safely go thru the light when red (field of view and amount of traffic come into play). Most cops will let you go as long as you stop and wait and appear to take care when blowing the red.
4th - If you were to get ticketed, the law can help in, in most places the actual text of the law is something akin to an operator being required to stop at a functioning light. The argument can be made that since your vehicle is licensed and registered by the state, the light's sensor's failure to detect you, a legal road vehicle, makes it defective.

Well I used to just run the light after two minutes or so. I have a couple around by me that would not change for a motorcycle. I heard about putting those strong earth magnets on the underside of the bike. So I put four on each frame rail on the bottom. I've never had to run those lights again. Maybe the magnets work or maybe the city did something about the lights. I haven't bothered to find out. One thing I can say is with the magnets on the underside, I don't have to wait for lights anymore. Seems like they work so try it, it cost nothing. yes by the way I try to stop on top of the buried wires.
