Hi All My names Daniel Short version of a long story, due to a combination of work injury (Right wrist) and general life getting in the way I’ve been off bikes for the last 15+ years, prior to that spent a lot of time in the dirt. The last couple of years the itch has been real bad and I decided it was finally time to get back on the horse so to speak. But what to get? I looked at and rode a number of bike trying to figure out what I wanted and what suited. The answer was easy after I rode my first VFR, it was perfect, had great styling, comfortable to ride for long trips even with my bung wrist and happy to go at my pace. Since then I had been on the lookout for the right ride. Finally in January I came across a 99 VFR 800 that was the right price and screamed my name and I could stand it no more and buckled to the pressure, buying the bike and loving every minute since. Where I have access to some fantastic roads out here and have spent as much time as I can exploring as many of the roads as I can and revelling in all that I’ve been missing out on for all those years without a bike. Cheers Daniel
:welcome: Glad to hear that you have been enjoying your tyme back in the saddle. Ride Safe! Just one problem:
Thanks for the welcome Paul, The sad part is I havn't taken any pics of it yet, However I will over the weekend and post them up. The even sadder part is I'm involved in the detailing industry here and it took me over 3 months before I even cleaned the bike. I figured I'd just ride it and worry about cleaning it and pics when the weather turned worse. Which is about now, so I'm going to pull it down and start with some new paint
Hi Daniel, It's good to hear you're back on a road bike after what sounded like a fairly long lay off. Yep, the VFR's are a worthwhile machine and tick a lot of boxes. They're particularly fun when you hit 6600 rpm and all the valves start working, though I'm pretty sure the earlier models are a bit different to mine (2010) Make sure you keep the rubber on the road and take car of her. As Paul said stick a pic or two on. Cheers Colin
