Just a cheaper alternative for most of us "weekend" riders. I bought a rear T1 and the thing is great! I have been reading reviews from people saying they are lasting 5,000+ miles. Check it out. I paid $59.95 for mine shipped. If you look at the pictures, there is a red 5th gen with red tires on it..Not too bad, but I just went with the black.

those colored tires look pretty cool, but are they any good? does having color in them have any negative effect?

I'm not feeling it. Some of the ones on the website are ok, but it's hard to get used to.

They actually have racers that use them. I believe they started with airplane tires. I still don't think I could do the camo tires!

I could see like blue tires if I powder coated my rims red or something, to continue the r/w/b scheme... that might be cool

I wouldn't be dicing canyons or the track with them, because I like traction.

OK, for a stunter, show bike, or someone who rides with chicken strips.

I personally didn't get any colors, just plain black. No problems with them yet. I know they have a race team that runs on the tires that took 2nd place in a 6 hour road course....Can't be that bad if there being ridden like that. I myself don't ride too aggressive, so they fit me just perfect.

Just messing with you but was there only 2 bikes in the race:biggrin:

For what you want them for, I'm sure they'll be just fine, it could be possible(but most likely) the team was running a different compound than what is sold.

They do sell 3 different tires with different compounds.
