Hi guys (and girls:) I have a 2007 with just over 9k miles. The problem I am experiencing is shifting from N to first or second I am having to let the clutch partially out, and the bike seems to lurch when shift is achieved. I have experienced this B4, but usually only after a hard ride. Incidentally when the clutch is out and bike is in N there is a "churning" noise. Is the clutch worn? Can it be adjusted? Do I need different oil? (BTW what's the best oil?) please help.
    Eric

I'd change the oil first. Shifting and clutch action can be very dependent on the condition of the oil in the crankcase/gearbox - too thin (or diluted a little with gas), and it can be hard or tricky/ finicky to shift, too thick or cold and it can be stiff and sluggish - these are some generalizations - based on my experience with both my KZ and the viffer.

I use AMSOIL - personal choice. I make No recommendations regarding oil for the viffer. It's like recommending a religion.

At 9k you shouldn't be having clutch or trans trouble. The "churning" noise in neutral is normal - the mainshaft of the transmission is turning, it just doesn't flow power through the gears to the output shaft.

    Not another OIL question............:frusty:
Check your chain slack, 9k is just broking in. Try to flush all the break and clutch fluid
