So, I have been in the deconstruction phase of my second 2000 VFR 800 for well over two months now.
I cam across more than a few problems which I solved. So I removed the clutchcover to repair/modify it.
Then I discovered that is was missing a bolt on the pressure plate.

I then decided to go further and noticed this!

So one of the "arms" is sheered off, its not inside the oil pan. So I ordered another inner clutch basket. I
have been trying to get the basket off, but I can't! It spins freely. The sevice manual says I need a center
clutch holder which is nearly $150!!!! Yikes. So, I have no idea what to do to remove and replace it. Any
    suggestions/tips?

Ive been looking into the window mod on the cover. I'm going to take it ro a local shop to get a quote.

Reinstall the discs and push on them, this will give you enough friction to rattle it off with a impact gun. Requires two people to torque it back on, one to hold and one to torque.

Thanks for the input! I went with TOE CUTTER's suggestion. I went out and bought an impact driver and it came out smoothly. Thanks again.

On another note, I stopped by some local shops (regarding the window mod on the cover) and none were willing to do it. Any suggestions?

By the way, the inner clutch basket was $80 at a dealership. So, I shopped around ebay. I found a basket from a 94 VFR 750. Its identical! A steal at $10!!

One of the VFRD members, I believe it was SEBSPEED, was making these for a few of the forum members over there. Not sure if he was doing it as a one time run or planned to make them and sell them on a request from members. I hope this helps you with your quest.

    Cheers!
