I have just bought a vfr 750 and found it has oil leak when warm, investigated and found a hole in the sump.
On ebay there are many years of sumps available but what year sumps will fit on the '88 engine? if any.

Any advise is gladly welcome and if there is any knocking around in anyones garage for sale that would be even better, thank you

You might well need to be suspicious that that bike has been run low on oil while running, thus bearing damage, what ???>? How big is the hole ?? Not much puts a hole there except a crash....?

Finding the part number of your sump and comparing it with nearby years should suffice; but, wait a sec !! Your sump might could be fixed by a spot of the proppa weld.

Don't discount breakers' yards cuz those guys are often experts at knowing what fits what. As a guess, i'd say '86/'87 would also fit your '88.
