I have my VFR totally set up for touring with the Honda hard bags and a trunk. Heli bars and a Sargent seat. Even ThrottleMeister throttle lock. .....Still, I lust for a BMW K1200LT luxo-barge. My VFR is in the classifieds section if anyone knows someone looking to but or even trade for a full blown tourer.

BMW riders (and drivers!), a bigger bunch of rich, over-privledged, smug, perfectionistic, arrogant, brand conscious superior eliteists you couldnt find ! And the dealers are even worse !!

And our guy is on the same path cuz suddenly, somehow his VFR isn't good enough for his refined, exquisite tastes any longer !

I bought a BMW K1200LT last Fall. My wife and I do a lot of two-up long distance touring (e.g., 12 hour days), and it's a much more comfortable ride for her. I kept my VFR, though, because I prefer it over the BMW for solo riding.

What do you like most about the LT and what do you like the least? I've read so much about clutch failures due to contamination from slave leakage and also final drive failures,,,Its it overblown or a real issue with those things?

Ive got a K1200LT (for sale BTW - 99 with 24k) and its awesome. cruise control, 6cd changer, full stereo, powered reverse.... its my couch on wheels. Ive also got 2 1200RT-Ps and they are much more sporty... Ill keep up with full streetbikes no problem on it, where as I overpower the LT in the turns - dragging hardparts, etc. Totally different uses though, the LT doesnt bat an eye doing a trip to Vegas and back. The RTP its not really a problem either - well see how it is on my new VFR soon!

LOL... kinda! Ill lean it against a wall in my shop or up against a building if I absolutely have to... but its got over a 300 mile range and is super comfy so I just go to the bathroom before I get on and trust in my service to keep the bike riding!

Its a beast.... almost 900 pounds.

Leaning up against the trash can in this pic haha

Seems our Billy's hungry for p***y again.

BMW sold tons of bikes after the Wall Street Journal published a photo of Steve Forbes on his.
