    Guys,

Need to get my GPS on switched power with ignition key. Is there a known place to tap in on the 6th Gen?

Under seat, use the lead that goes to the license plate light. I added mine this spring, no problems works great.
    I have a Garmin Zumo 220.

Excellent! Just to clarify, you used the license plate light power and not the tail light correct?

    Maggot,

You saved me from getting pulled over!! THANK YOU!

Went to check my plate light and it was out. I thought, oh the bulb must be burned out so pulled it apart and it was good. I checked the socket and no power with key "on". Disconnected plug under seat and had continuity on ground but not the center 12V conductor. Turns out the wire broke inside the socket. Finally figured out how to take it apart and replaced the wire and everything is working again on the plate light. Who knows how long I would have gone with it out had it not been for your suggestion to use the plate light for power. You are getting a "Thanks" from me!

BTW, I did tap(solder actually) onto the 12V for the plate light under the seat and now my Nuvi powers on and off with the bike just like I wanted. Oh before anyone says anything, the wire feeding my GPS is fused so it should be safe.

Again, Thanks Maggot(I mean it in an affectionate way :)!

    Craig
