I used the marines grade and mount them on the left fairing panel. Check out in my photo gallery under My Ride.

I just researched this recently. After considering every option I could find, like setting up a fuse box under the seat and running a cord up under the gas tank, I was pretty convinced that the slickest solution for this is as follows, assuming you want the phone displayed and usable for GPS.

1.) Run a powerlet outlet out of the steering stem. They make a kit to do this. You would then run this adapter out of the steering stem plug to your phone...

2.) Which is mounted on a ram-mount bolted to the two gas tank bolts just below the stem. You can choose any arm or bracket you want from ram-mount, but this is the base.

The only problem with this solution is total cost, which is a little under $200 after all is said and done. You can do the same thing for much cheaper with a cigarette lighter plug and an adapter, but this winds up being either a messier solution, or a solution that will require some ingenuity in permanently fixing and waterproofing all the components. Also please note that while I'm 99% sure this setup will work because I have photos of someone that's done each portion of it, I am not yet sure because my parts have not arrived yet to do my install. Both companies are great and helpful however.

Finally, if you just want to charge your phone, I'd set something up under the seat with a cigarette lighter plug. You can do this for 30 or 40 bucks with an SAE adapter from powerlet and a few cheap parts. If this is what you wanna do, let me know and I'll post the parts I know of.

Yup brough my VFR800 last December 2011, Honda still make them and sell them in Aus.

Perfect adapter tyarosevich, I`ve ordered a steering stem kit, rather spend a bit more on quality the e`bay ones look very cheap and nasty.

In regards to I phone holder been using one of these eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d, does the job but I just added a safety strap to hold the phone holder as a back up in case it was to come lose.
