    These are what I got:

    Sorry for delay,

My 2001 Honda CBR 929rr has 6,793 miles, is in excellent condition, no liens or loans,it has been very well maintained, with a clean title and no accident history.I am selling it at this final price of $1,600 because my husband died 1 month ago (he had a heart attack) and it brings me bad memories and that's the reason I want to sell it asap.I, along with my daughter decided to sell the house and so we moved to my brother in Greeley, CO trying to start a new life.
I want to use eBay services for the safety of both of us so if you're interested in purchasing this bike just email me with your full name, address including the zip code and phone number, so I can notify eBay that you are selected as my possible buyer and they will contact you to explain the entire procedure.

Here is a link to the bike's photo gallery:Photo Album - Imgur

Thank you for working with me on this,
    Melisa Nivens

    ----------------

    Hello again ,
Please give me a little time to explain you the process of this transaction .
As I told you in my first e-mail,we just moved to my brother in Greeley, CO. Before leaving I had prearranged the deal with eBay services so my presence isn't necessary. The bike is now located in Greeley, CO, at the shipping company, ready to be delivered. It will arrive at your address in 2-3 working days. The shipping costs are included in the total price of the bike! You will have 10 days to test and inspect the bike prior to make any purchase. So if you want to make this deal I need the following details from you: full name, address including the zip code and phone #.
After I will have all this details I will forward them to eBay and I will proceed with this transaction. eBay will contact you with all the details that you need to complete this deal and also to see that I am covered by them and that I am legit seller. Waiting your email with the requested details.

    Thank you
    Melisa

I think my response would be that I would like to contact eBay to confirm the item and could she please give me her full name, address, zip code, etc. Oh and for sure eBay will also need her SS# to confirm her identity, so she might as well give me that too!

Conveniently, I'm less than 30 minutes from Greeley. Respond to that scammer and tell "her" your friend in Windsor would like to deal face to face on your behalf.

SOS! This variation is a little slicker in that the "bike (s)" are not almost brand new and in many cases reasonably, to some at least, priced. Same scam.. Send em some front money.

Even the language has improved. This same game has been running for years and sometimes the language was pathetically funny in early versions.

If ya really want to "cure the ill" collect as much on the poster as is possible or if ya see this type scam running on sites like CR. Post up that it's a scam. The scammer will generally pull the "ad". If ya got the time what can be fun is to start asking all sorts of questions about proper air pressue in the tires, pitting in the chrome ect to see how far the scammer will go to do the grift.

American capitalism at work to improve our lot..

So I inquired about a "too good to be true" ad I came across on craigslist titled: 2007 Mercedes-Benz S550 4MATIC - $17000 (CITY)
The first red flag was the location, CITY. the second was the fact it was selling for half of its actual value. But hey, you never know. It could easily be some pissed off wife pawning off her cheating husbands' things. I ask: Dare I ask, why only $17,000? Any pictures? and promptly get a response with a photobucket.com link. Car looks great but the background clearly shows the vehicle wasn't photographed in Southern California. I further ask: so where is the vehicle to have a look? Then I get a response pretty similar to the one that started this thread:

    From: Natalie.Turner@air-force-mil.org
    Subject: Re: 2007 Mercedes-Benz S-Class - $17000

    Hi again,

I attached the carfax report to show no accidents, real mileage, not salvage, no liens, no loans.
Right now I'm in a military base in Missoula, MT and we are getting ready for Afghanistan. I cannot leave the base and I'm not able to talk on the phone (at least for the moment).
To make things easier I enlisted the car in the eBay Vehicle Purchase Program. Because the deal must be sealed through them, as you may already know, in accordance with their terms you'll be given 5 days to inspect and test drive the car before making a final decision and title transfer takes place.
The car (along with all documents, clean and clear title with my signature on it, owner's manual and keys) will be shipped by DAS shipping company through a contract the army has with DAS. The shipping is free on your side.
Here is how it will work:
    1. I will inform eBay that I have a buyer and ask them to start a new transaction with you.
    2. They will ask you for the shipping details. After they process your information, they will send you an invoice with all the details on how to make a refundable payment.
    3. After the refundable payment is made, eBay will contact me to authorize the shipping. The shipping will last maximum 4 days. This entire time your payment will stay with eBay, including those 5 days inspection period from the moment you get the car.
If by any means you find that the car does not meet your expectations, you'll get fully refunded and the car gets back to the shipping company, free of charge on your side.

    I'll wait your response.
    Thanks.

Check out the email domain. air-force-mil.org...really? Guess some suckers actually believe that our military uses .org and not .mil
And the carfax that was included was one that of a Toyota Tundra.

Sadly when I called this person out on their scam and all the flaws, no profanity response. Nothing. I was at least hoping for something.
