I bought the HID kit from Cycle Gear for my SV.....It was a POS and lasted less than a month. They do have a great return policy and took it back. I would stay clear of theirs.

OK just my .02 The Retrofit Source is THE place to go for HID anything. Call them up or email them and you will get the absolute best customer service. Their parts last, and if you buy a kit it will come with a 5 year no hassle warranty. They are my perfered supplier for HID things. I have use just about every other kit out there for installs on various cars and bikes and I have to say that The Retrofit Source is the best I have ever used. I have used the DDM kits and they are just about one of the worst kits I have installed. The quality and consistancy of them is far inferior to TRS. I dont work for The Retrofit Source or anything like that but I do deal with them a lot. This winter I am going to do a retrofit on my viffer and The Retrofit Source has everything you need to do the job right the first time, they even offer resealing glue for resealing the headlights. Go to their website and check them out.

Well, I have another winter project now - redo my projector retrofit project. I was following a mail truck and he pulled off to the right in a parking space and then whipped a u-turn. When he came back across the middle of the road I hit him broadside. USPS has no insurance... they're covered by Tort law. What b.s. Anyway, my insurance is taking care of the repairs but they're replacing the headlights with stock headlights and HID bulbs instead of doing the HID projector retrofit.

So the good news I guess is I can apply what I learned the first go-round and maybe make them even better.

Thanks man! I was thinking of replacing the high and lows this time... have 4 circles in there. I'll have to take some measurements and see how much clearance I have and see what I can't squeeze in there.

    Hey Skeeter

Just a suggestion, but the Mazdaspeed 6 I used to own had HID projector headlights and I was amazed at how compact the headlights were as far as depth goes. They had a chrome bezel on the unit as well. Not 100% sure if the Lexus units are smaller but the Mazda headlights might be a bit cheaper and more plentiful.

Yeah, I'm not sure what I'm going to go with this time. I know the ones I got were too long - in that they're packed in there tight. Made them a bear to install. Honda has my bike now and is doing repairs after the accident. They're giving me back the old projectors. So I'll measure them and see what dimensions I need (smaller). I'll post vids this time around instead of just pictures and document a how-to (hopefully).

Pm me and tomorrow when I get on my computer I can link a projector kit that requires no headlight cutting and is designed to be used in bikes. $250 shipped for 2 projectors/etc with angel and demon eye.

Why not post the link to the website here in the forum so everyone can benefit? Unless it's a secret members-only website, like they used to do with those spiffy jackets.

That is what I meant :) Maybe they would do a VFRW group buy?

    HID projector KT-MT6D ( Dual Projectors )

Comes to about $250 all tricked out, 55w, demon eye, with a spare bulb etc. A guy on my local bike forum put one in his GF's R6 and this is how it turned out:

That's pretty much what I'm looking for. I wish they showed a pic of the light on the road. I'd like to see how crisp the horizon line is.

Nice, I rather paid $250.00 instead of dealing with all the work.

No, Scuba. I believe that's $250 for the parts. You still gotta do the work :)
