When I get my check Friday I'll be plunking down the cash for Total Control level 1 at CKS kickstart in Poughkeepsie next Sunday (9/16). Will I see any viffers there? Anyone take a course at CKS before? I know generally what to expect from a Lee Parks course but haven't heard from anyone about CKS specifically.

Just got home from taking the course and riding a bit afterward, and all I have to say is WOW THAT WAS AWESOME! I'll go into a bit more detail later (maybe in a different thread) but I had a fantastic time, and I progressed way farther in a day than I would have thought possible, let alone possible for me. I went from having never moved my butt from the seat before to very consistently almost putting a knee down on both sides in figure 8's. I HIGHLY recommend this course to anyone thinking about taking it, or anyone looking to improve their riding skill level.

We were promised photos would be posted one the school's website so I'll make it a point to be back with a more in-depth review when we get some of those.

From looking at the website, it looks like a worthwhile course. You should do a write-up on it and what skills you learned.

I've heard and read that it is a great class to attend and I'm bummed that the closest classes to me are in San Diego and on dates that don't work for me. I was hoping to take it this year as last year I had just missed a class they had in Irvine, CA, which is only 20-30 minutes from where I live.

You should definitely do a synopsis of the course and let us in on what you thought was most beneficial to you or what you think most riders would benefit from. I did the CA Superbike School more than a decade ago and would love to do it again, but I understand that the Lee Parks program concentrates on skills that help you in "real world" situations i.e. Techniques that help you deal with everyday road hazards. Am I wrong?
