    Hello

I'm buying a 2001 VFR800i on Monday, with two previous careful owners, 29000 km, Leo Vince Pipe, rear seat cowl, service history etc after crashing my ZX12R. I'm from Christchurch, New Zealand and have owned the following in order of appearance:

    1975 CB175 - first bike
    1986 CBX55F2 - first big bike
    1991 CBR600FM - first real bike
    2001 YZF-R1 - first nutter bike
    2002 CBR954RR - best handling bike
    2003 VTR1000F - first V twin, worst tank range
    1999 R1150 GS - biggest bike
    2001 ZX12R - most powerful bike

Time to cut back on the horsepower and increase the comfort methinks. I'm just looking forward to a bike with Honda written on the side, a centre stand, a large tank, decent mileage and the battery under the seat instead of in the frame and nothing to prove to anyone!

Welcome to the site. But you are not off the hook. You still have things to prove. Like that actually have bought the bike when you do by posting up pix here.

I bet you have some beautiful roads in NZ, would love to ride there someday. Congrats on becoming a new VFR owner!

Here's m'bird. Flew 50 minutes to pick it up then rode 500 km home in pouring rain, got completely soaked but it was worth it!

Thanks, it had been looked after by it's two previous owners. Ironically, the first owner was an American who spent 6 months at home and 6 months here in NZ. He bought the bike in 2002 and rode it when in NZ. The second owner only had for 6 months before I bought it. It's like new.

Thanks again. Just found out a new 180/55 Metzeler Z6 rear tyre for the VFR, will cost $255 NZD, as opposed to my old ZX12R having a 190/50 Pilot Road at $355! Just gets better! Oh did I mention I've done 180 km on half a tank? ZX12R was 230 km for a whole (19 litres) tank!
