My Bike came from Tennessee to the louisville Ky. area, a yr before I bought her.
I live about 50 miles round trip from where she was stored. so I win no awards for longest or shortest distances!

I have been traveling all my life to get to my VFR but as for actual distance traveled, I had to go about 50 miles one way to pick her up.

My first VFR was in March, 1991. My buddy drove me about 10 miles to the next city so I could pick up a brand new 1990. Best looking Japanese bike ever.

My second VFR I picked up two months ago. My wife, 7 yo daughter, myself and Johnny the dog left our driveway in Yucaipa, California at 14:30 hrs. Friday August 3, 2012.
19:30 hrs. - We arrived in Surprise, Az to drop off our daughter with my father-in-law.
01:30 hrs. Saturday we arrived at Holiday Inn Express in Wlcox, Az.
07:30 hrs. We departed Wilcox, Az.
12:45 hrs. We arrived at Best Western Desert Aire in Alamogordo, NM to meet a very cool chap and his lovely wife who had driven in from Houston. He had a 2001 VFR that I wanted and I had a 2004 Triumph Tiger that he wanted. We swapped bikes, did the paperwork and had a cold beer at a nearby Applebee's.
14:30 hrs. The wife and I headed west.
22:30 hrs. We arrived back in Surprize, Az to pick up our daughter.
02:30 hrs. Sunday August 5, 2012. We pulled into our driveway. 1612 miles across the American Southwest; in August; in 36 hours. Whew!

Florence, SC to Knoxville, TN. 350 miles one way. I have a place in Chimney Rock NC which is only about 140 miles from Knoxville, so I drove there Friday night and spent the night. Got up Saturday morning and drove to Knoxville to look at it. On the way I talked myself out of buying it(not a necessity, other things I could spend the money on, etc..) but had told the guy I was coming to look at it so I figured I might as well at least go take a look. As soon as he opened the garage door, I talked myself right back into buying it. Did the paperwork, loaded it on the trailer and headed back to Chimney Rock. Didn't have a helmet, so I had to look at it all weekend on the trailer without being able to ride it. Brought it back to Florence on Monday night, unloaded it and promptly dropped it pulling out of my front yard to go ride it for the first time.:hss: Been riding it constantly ever since.

About 90 miles one way, found it on ebay, no one bought it, called the guy. Wanted 2 grand, went over with cash thinking I'll barter him down no prob. Yeah, right, all the way down to $1970. Guess he knew what is was after all.

1986 VF1000R. I live in Dallas, TX and it lived in Chicago, IL. Flew out and drove it home. Right at 1000 miles. One great day, one day of heavy rain, bad roads and shot suspension.

Kept it 2 years, restored it to Rothmans color and sold it. Dammit. I miss it, but my 93 VFR is a better bike for me. And it was delivered.
