    Hi All,

I am brand new to the forum but not to riding. I am soon to own a canary '00 VFR 800 after a low side that trashed my trusty '03 Concours "Rufus". So where do I start? I had just gotten a handle on my Connie and settled into a maintenace schedule and figured out what mods I wanted to do and was working through the list. Now it seems I find myself starting all over again. So where would you point me first? What do you wish someone had told you early on were the things to know about owning a VFR?
I am a pretty competent mechanic, not much scares me any more. I plan on putting between 8 - 12000 miles on this bike annually between daily commutes and road trips with my father on his ST1300. I live in Hotlanta so summers are a bit on the warm side. I am a fairly aggresive rider, but you knew that because you already saw I low sided a 700lbs. Concours:tongue:. I cant wait for the insurance check to ge here so I can go get my new friend and even start wrenching if you tell me where to start. As far as I know the 2000 is bone stock with around 35000 on the clock.
    Thanks, glad to be here!

What you need to know is that your stock bike needs no modifications.

I see that you own how many 5th gen's? I've never had a bike yet that didn't need something, otherwise why are we on this forum? Are you are telling me of all those bikes you've listed in your profile they are now as they were rolling off factory line?
