ok guys I have a problem. I bought a 2001 vfr 800 intercepter fi off of a guy that had a power comander 3 usb already installed on it. my problem is that he didnt map it and when i went on powercomander.com and tried to dowload the map it wouldnt let me open it up. my bike is fully stock so if anyone can upload the best map for my bike i would really aprechiate it. and if you can let me know where i can find the cd or download the program that comes with the power comander. any info would help alot.Thank you so much

also if it wasnt mapped right would it make my take-off slugish or choppy?

Everything you need should be on Dynojets website, if not, you may call them or send them an email. I had an issue downloading a map for my PCV and the tech I spoke to just sent me all of the map files they had for my VFR via email.

As Long said, the one closest to your setup, but if the PCIII is on there why not put it to good use and get it tuned for your bike and get rid of any performance issues. Most Dyno tuners charge around $250.00, at least here in OC, California. I'm sure you can find a tuner near you, I believe DynoJet list Dyno tuners on their website as well. Also not sure if the PO did any air/fuel system maintenance you may want to make sure your air filter is new and/or cleaned an oiled if it's a K&N style filter. Maybe even run some Seafoam in the gas. Sea Foam Sales Company it's available at Autoparts stores and places like Walmart.

I should also add that the PAIR valve system should be removed or disabled in order for the Dyno tune to work properly. See here for info...http://vfrworld.com/forums/5th-generation-1998-2001/35929-how-pair-removal-5th-generation.html

More than likely you'll get a installation instructions when you buy the sensor eliminators from DynoJet, but I'll see if I can find the installation instructions for my PCV, I believe that the 5th and 6th Gen O2 sensors are in the same place. If I can find the instruction sheet I'll scan and post up the image.

    Cheers

awesome i appreciate it,also do you know a decent cheap black slip-on exhaust for 01 vfr800 or do I really need an after market exhaust for the power commander to do its full potential?

Personally I don't think you need to buy an aftermarket exhaust to allow the PCIII to provide you with a well running bike, but buying an aftermarket exhaust and not using a PC would, in my opinion, not allow the pipe to maximize it's level of performance. One of the reasons I bought my PCV is because my bike came with Two Bros exhaust system and I was experiencing a lot of backfiring and the typical low speed stumble that has plagued 6th Gens. Putting the PCV on gave me what I needed to cure both issues. Hopefully the attached image is viewable/legible.

    Cheers
