I was wondering if anyone would be interested in joining a facebook group for VFR riders in the sydney and greater area. Theory is for those of us that have facebook if a group is made it can automatically send out status and notifications to group members email. Possibly an easier way to organise day trips. If any one is interested just post here that you are keen and ill set up a group and post the link.

Facebook is for married people trying to reconnect with their highschool sweetie for a fling.

You can create a thread in regional forums and set your user preferences to email you notifications instantly of new posts in the thread.

Yeah it only will send notifications to the thread writer not people who post in the tread. Lets say i have a thread going for riders from sydney how do i notify all those riders with one email that there is a ride on day X?

people who post in a thread choose to receive notifications via email whenever someone posts. In your user profile for the site, you can elect to have any thread you post in automatically send you notifications.

If you're a post whore like some of us, your email box will get 12 emails an hour from the site. You can go to the top of this thread page (or any thread) and select where it says "thread tools" From there, you can select "notifications" and then tell the site how you would like it to notify you of any new posts in that specific thread.

So if there are specific threads that interest you and an instant notification is required, you can tell the site to email you whenever there's a change - regardless of whether you where the creator of the thread.

Hi Griffo, you may get a quicker response if you try OzVFR Forums , if you can't register (they've a bit of trouble with spammers recently) send me a PM with the username you want & email & I pass it on to the site admin.

Or you could try the OZVFR mailing list: send an email to ozvfr@ozvfr.net.au (I can't remember if you put "subscribe" in the subject or leave it blank & just have "subscribe" as your message. We even chat about VFRs occasionally...
