The NGK Iridium IX cross for the standard plug is DPR9EIX-9; I have been very satisfied w/ this plug mileage(7-10% increase) & performance(seat of the pants dyno) have improved.

The DPR9EIX-9 is about $7 per plug, is this correct?

Well.. I replaced the plugs. What a royal PIA. Not because they are hard to get to... The fuel line snapped and spilled a ton of gas panic set in before i realized I could turn off the fuel.. Lesson 1. Always turn off the fuel before moving the tank.

That said, the performance is basically the same which is good news. I still get a stutter at 5k so my next step is the carb sync... Going to use the generic tool from JC Whitney... Basically place the sync tool on top of the carb works decent.

Hi guys, just wanted to double check these plugs before I throw them in my bike. I have a 1986 VFR 700F and the plugs I'm looking to put in are the NGK DPR9EIX-9 5545's
are these the ones to go with just double checking. P.S. these are the Iridium IX plugs....thanks.

I have gone with the Denso X27EPR-U9 plugs in my VFR750s since I got them running in '09 and '10 and they have been running fine on the same plugs. Just get the regular plugs, people in the CB750 forum have had problems with the Iridium and other pricey sparkplugs. Tried NGKs in my '73 CB750 and they were not as good as the U-groove ND spark plugs.
