    Hi Guys,

I currently have a standard windscreen on the VFR. I have the forks raised about an inch in the clamps. On motorway runs the wind hits me in the upper chest. I used to have a touring screen that I sold, since the wind blast hit me in the visor of my helmet, and buffeted like crazy. I since got a better helmet which has helped a lot, but I don't know if it would "buffet" like the old one. When I lie flat on the tank at speed I get nice clean air, and only a bit of noise. If I could achieve this when sitting leaned a bit forward on the bike, that would be perfect.

I am 5'11 in height and have a '97 VFR 750 FV. I'm considering a double bubble screen. Any thoughts?

I think I have bought every available wind screen on the market except the varieo (sp?). There is no cure. A major flaw on such a wonderful engine. I think the fairing nose/windscreen is designed improperly to protect the rider unless as you say, the rider is laying on the tank. Absolutely brutal riding cold weather.

    Hi,
My 96 750 came with a double bubble. I find it fairly good deflecting the worst of the wind up to 100mph (on my private test track obviously) without having to hunch down too much.

Looks OK in smoked finish as well.
    cheers
    Rich

    Hi Rich,

How tall are you if you don't mind me asking? And are you a "broad" or "narrow" build?

    Thanks

    Bob

Thanks, I'm 5'11" but more like Bruce Willis, except less hair and muscles :D

I think I'll just have to pull the trigger on a DB screen. Birthday coming up next month ....

BTW that's an unusual colour for a VFR, never seen a blue one before?

some reckon Red is faster. Blue has more torque obviously ;-)

comes in a (in my humble opinion) rather strange green colour as well

Whats some good roads round you neck of the woods? Might try a mission later in the year

Depends what you like. If like me you like twisty roads with plenty of scenery, there are some great roads in West Cork and Kerry. As a general rule, the further west you go, the nicer the scenery and the more fun the roads are. With the new motorways, if you land in Dublin it's only 3 hours or so now to get there. Bring good rain gear though!

Actually the Wicklow mountains should be cool too, never biked over them but have driven in a car and it's really nice up there, and close to Dublin.

If you're planning a trip around the Cork area let me know!
