I have been using the tankslapper for about a year now, and so far, I am pleased with the protection it gives to the tank without using adhesives or straps. It does not help with grip - the ST1300 tank side pads look like they would help there - but not with the tankslapper sides.

+ there are clear grip pads available - you could combine these with the back part of the tankslapper and have both grip and protection that would not detract from the bikes lines and paint.

This is just wrong. What he means are cross-dressers.

Yes, it is flexible. They are great and look way better than those lame-ass faux CF things everyone puts on their R6.

I've always used a tank bra. As long as you keep it clean under it, no scratches.

I had the Mag-Knight on my ex-07' and was happy with it. You will need a hair dryer and about 30 minutes to get a really snug fit (their instructions call it a "hobby gun", whatever that is, but it is a Canadian company... maybe Randy knows what a hobby gun is... ). Once it is stretched and manipulated into position, it stays in place, even at closed-course racetrack speeds, which are never to be used on public highways.

I had a Bagster tank cover on my last bike from new & after 14 years the paint on the tank was like new. No scratches or scuff marks. Would have got one for the new bike, but since it's most probably my last bike & it made SFA difference at trade in time, so now I don't really give a rat's arse.

    :chaingun:

Shit. I dunno. Maybe a 50 cal. used at close range on certain elements of our society?

I suspect they are referring to a heat gun, often used to strip paint . Careful. They are hot and can burn not only the paint, plastic or wood, but your hands too.

    This is my rifle
    This is my gun
    One is for business
    One is for fun
    Or something like that.

Bought a mag knight for the 919. Decided I didn't like it wrapping around the tank, so I took the scissors to it and trimmed it down to tank pad size. Liked it much better. The VFR came with a hideous yellow tank bra thing. Got rid of that and bought the small tank pad from mag knight.

My blackbird came with a tank bras in it. The silver paint under it was yellowed, like gas had been spilled and not cleaned off. Just something to watch for.

I always liked the second-look skins, but I they don't make anything for the newer VFR. And the web site is hideous.

Welcome To The TechSpec Gripster Tank Grips

I used the techspec's on my FZ8, and when I killed that deer, retired the FZ8 and picked up my 5thgen, my wife immediately ripped the bra off the bike. :) I put my order in that very evening. I love the C3 but went with the snakeskins.

    Yeah!
    Oh shit... wait...no they're not!

    Acworth-Kennesaw-20130228-00079.jpg

I threw one on for 3 reasons; 1. My tank has a nasty dent and repair I didn't care to look at. 2. I was having issues with my overpants not gripping as well as I'd like in cornering. 3. Mostly just reason number 1 again, I'm too cheap to fix it and to proud to ride it ugly.

But to each his own, I really like the Mag-Knight option and will look into it too.
