The 2007 VFR 800 VTEC came with 2__________ type lo beam bulbs, and 2____________ type hi beam bulbs. Your choices: H4, H7, or (?) 2nd question: does anyone make some sort of converter/different holder that will allow me to use H4 bulbs in the hi beam holes where there seem to be H7 (?) bulbs? It looks like the H7 connector (2 slots) will slide onto the H4 bulb (3 prongs) OK....just don't know if it will cause issues/problems with overheating, etc. The bulbs turn on and work fine this way, BTW
The 2007 VFR 800 VTEC came with 2 12v 55/60W H4 type lo beam bulbs, and 2 12V 55W H7 type hi beam bulbs. Can't say that I've ever heard of a converter for H4 to H7 type bulbs. Why do you want to use H4 type bulbs in the H7 high beam sockets Greg?
'Cause my dumb, cheap arse thought that since all of the VFs/VFRs in my garage, both modern and late models, ONLY use H4 bulbs, that the 800 did as well, and thusly already went ahead and bought new, 100W H4s in preparation for swapping out the lower wattage ones. Thanks for the news though. Confirms my suspicions.
No probs my friend. You do realize that the 6th gen. bikes DO NOT use the high beam elements at all on the H4 bulbs right?
