Is there a Givi top box rack I can use with the OEM hardbags? I'd like a top box with a backrest on it for when my wife rides with me. I'm planning to pick up the OEM luggage from David Silver Spares soonish for a trip and was trying to find out if there is a back rest/top box I can add onto that.

On a side note, any reason to go with Givi bags over the OEM? I like that the OEM color matches my bike. I don't need to hold tons of stuff, but enough for a night or two for two people.

Givi is cheaper, Honda bags are actually made by Givi though.
There is an OEM honda top case and mount, it's not cheap and the top case and mount are sold separately.
Givi top case mount will not fit with the Honda side cases.
If you're just trying to get a backrest, and might also be looking for a better than OEM seat (you'll want one eventually) you can get a corbin seat with backrest, I think there's even a set in the classifieds on our site right now.

I think that about covers it! I'm mounting my own topcase this spring. Side cases were great, but it will be nice having the extra storage.

This is for black color. There is also a top case for 2005 Winning red. Link for that is

Part # for the top rack is 08L42MCW801 and the link is

I'm guessing here but it looks like both the red and the black topcase in the link above are the exact same unit as the OEM one for my '07 r/w/b, just a different color? Seems the blue ones are....just a figment of my imagination since I have not been able to find a listing or foto anywhere.

OEM. I drilled new holes to the mounting plate to use the stock holes on the OEM rack and some spacers. Works better and looks cleaner than using the brackets that come with the top box.

Yeah, I think they are the same for all the 6th gen. From what I read, it is very very hard to find hte r/w/b color'd top case. Best bet is to get it painted..

Is there a cheaper alternative to the oem top rack? It looks to be about $250 which is a lot for a rack imo.

Really? 176 british pounds is $262. I was hoping Britain was on the Euro (better rate...would be $227) but they are not.

Still sounds outrageous to me. Add in the OEM bracket, and shipping, and we are almost $700!!

    I need to rethink this....

I agree. I was incredibly fortunate to find the one I bought on eBay at about half the price of a new one.
