So I was out running some errands today and I went into the store (walmart) and I come out and I see my bike and something looks really wrong, My helmet is gone. I have ... had an HJC (don't know which one snell approved about $250) and it was gone. I had it on the helmet lock, guess someone wanted it, but I don't get it, that's a new kind of low, like seriously how is a stolen helmet worth enough to put some stranger in life threatening danger (plus it was raining out here all day).

I'm pissed I follow ATGATT and here I am in the rain with out a helmet, f****** seriously. Now I had to ride home with out a helmet (rode to my GF's place only 15 miles vs 25 to home) so she could give me a ride home. I don't get paid again for 2 weeks and don't really have the money to get a good helmet so I have to wait a few weeks till i can ride again ... GRRRR. This happened 12 hours ago and i'm still pissed sorry I just had to vent.

Guess I know for the future.

TL;DR If you steal helmets you are a dick.

I agree with you. that person is a POS! I always worry about my gear even when I lock it down, not just from theft but from vandals as well. One guy I knew got his helmet pissed in when it was on his bike's helmet lock. Being in a helmet law state, I wonder if a police officer would buy "my helmet was stolen!" or would I get a ticket for not wearing a helmet. Just curious, how did they get the helmet off the lock? Did they cut the D-ring part of the helmet off?

If it's any consolation, a lot of the online retailers are closing out their stock and there are good deals on helmets right now. Sport Bike Track Gear, Revzilla, Competition Accessories, Motorcycle gear, take your pick. Sorry this happened hopefully karma will catch this A-Hole!

Thanks Yeah looks like they cut the d rings, as there was no parts of anything left. Thank god i'm not in a helmet required state even though I did not feel safe at all. And I have found many good sales, I just need to wait till i get paid again as all my funds are tied up. (sucks getting paid once a month)

What an asshole....Walmart is crawling with undesirable pieces of shit like that here where I live, so when I go into a store EVERYTHING goes with me; helmet, tank bag, gloves, etc. It's easier than having some jerkoff steal it. That makes me really mad for you, I would be absolutely livid as I am sure you are.
But remember; what goes around comes around....that person will eventually get what they deserve, cause that's how this universe works.

The Walmart's do seem to add to the deterioration of the area's they swallow.
Sorry for your loss Rusty, I typically leave my helmet on the bike as well when I'm running errands, just a matter of time before I call the wife to bring me the spare.

I hate thieves period! They need all their fingers broke. See if Walmart has security tapes that might show the theft. Hey who knows you might get lucky. I feel for ya man.

My Wayne Gardner replica got swiped back in the day, very rare helmet so when I saw it again I knew it was mine. Long story short , there was a hell of a fist fight that I still have scares on my face from as I was oot numbered but is sitting in my house to this day.

I've got an old Shoei X11 that you can have if you want it. You pay for shipping and I can get it out before weeks end. It is a size large so if that is not your size then just wait as I'd rather it go to someone in need.

    Consider it karma.

I am sure a couple of us can cover the shipping if it is a doable fit.

that sucks oot loud as someone else uses that expression frequently here, so I stole it.

Next time, get one of those U-Shaped locks, stick it through your upper tripple tree, and cap it off thru the chin bar of your brain bucket. I used to go into NYC using this methodology along with using a NYC city chain, chained thru the frame. I have seen derilick motorcycles as well as bicycles with just the front wheel still chained up though. Always pick a good spot to leave your steed.

I had a Vanson jacket stolen out of a shop in NJ and I had to ride home 35 miles or so in the winter with just a sweater! Liked Toe-eees fist fight story...

Better luck next time. I like wallmart btw. Too bad you can't watch the close captioned tele, they have cameras all over the place.

I have a big ass head, when I got the helmet I ranged from XXl to XXXL but I have lost a nice chunk of weight and it felt big so i'm probably in the XL to XXL range, if you guys have anything I can pay for shipping assuming its not astronomical, you guys are the best.

Oh and I run errands on the bike because if I can fit what i'm carrying in the tank bag or a book bag I have no reason to take my gas guzzling cage.

Oh and Toe, I'll be calling you when and if I find my helmet on CL or ebay.
