I have the Two Brothers "Stash" installed on my 2002 and I am very happy with the looks and the sound...not to mention the storage. The sound is definately a lower, slightly louder, more aggressive sound than stock. Like you, I did not want a system that was TOO loud...just a little more aggressive and free flowing. I have all kinds of pics if you are interested. Installing them also reduced the weight of the bike by ten pounds as well.

I looked under the fender and saw the little crossover pipe in there, does that all stay or is it a slip on with S pipe to the collector that eliminates some of the oval crossover pipes? I havn't seen the Micron system.... I always thought it was the loud one of the group...... Probably was the Laser pipes that I was thinking of. That bike in the video does sound pretty good doesn't it?

    After market exhaust

Yes it sounds great. As has been said previously, any after market exhaust is going to sound " higher performance " than stock. I think that all of the VFR's have one of the nicest sounds out there if allowed to breath. I like how at idle you get a little of that V Twin sound ( you can almost visualize the pistons pumping up and down ) and when you open up the throttle it sounds like you are progressively adding more and more cylinders until the motor almost seems to sound a little angry. With regards to the crossover pipe that will vary with whatever system you decide on. With the nickel plated carbon fibre Two Brothers system I have, you loose everything down to the cat. There is only one pipe that connects with the cannister on the right...that is the muffler. The cannister on the left is a " fake " with just a short piece at the front to make it look as though it was also connected. With this system you insert a key into the end of the fake cannister and it comes off allowing you to put small items like wallets, sunglasses, cameras etc. in there...even a bottle of wine which can come in quite handy depending on who you are riding with. I think the choice of an aftermarket exhaust system is one of the most passionate, most subjective choices you will make as everyone has their own personal tastes when it comes to what sounds good. I think no matter what you decide on you will be happy with how it will let the personality of this wonderful motor express itself in an audible way.

The Micron systems is also a cat-back bolt on. Both mufflers are functional and looks quite similar to the stock system under the seat. One change is tha the chrome heel plate on the stock is not retained. It's never been an issue for me as the heel plate on the rearsets do their job nicely.

I'm actually not happy with the dB coming from my system, wish it WAS louder! But only sometimes.

Honestly, you can listen to exhaust clips on the internet all day long and XYZ system will sound different on yours than it will in the mega-compressed clip that likely had crappy micing to begin with.
If you hear something in person, that's about the only to way to tell if you'll like it.

If you're looking for a new system that looks nice, fits cleanly, sounds like the motor should and does not gets the cops riding you down, then I recommend the Micron system. I've been very happy with it.
In fact, one very nice characteristic is how the exhaust levels out when pounding slab. You're not trailed by a loud pipe for the entire trip. You can hear other sounds and the actual engine below you, not just the roaring cans under your can.

I believe you'll be happy with a Micron system. My .02 dollars.

Also, I've added a few new pics to show the system in more detail.
Hope i've been of some assistance!

Thanks for the pics, I like the Microns..... They look right on there. I am looking for the sound you described too. I don't want too much db just the refined sound so people realize theres something other than an I4 behind the fairing...
