2007 VRF800 suddenly will not start

I have never had any problems since I bought it new. I had just got done with a ride and was pulling it into the garage when my crampbuster came in contact with my tank and reved it up to about 6k. I used the kill switch to turn it off while it was still reved up. Then after straighten the bars and it would not restart. It cranks fine and the fuel pump come on and the FI light come on while the pump is pressurizing then quickly goes out. The bikes cranks over fine and it is not the battery. The kill switch, lean switch, and kickstand switch all check good or the bike wouldn't even turn over. I disconnected both battery terminals and let sit for several hours. All fuses are good, the mains and ones under the speedo cluster. I pulled the front 2 plugs(they were easy to get to) and they sparked fine but I replaced anyway. I also shot a small amount of starter fluid directly into throttle bodies and it never even had a good ignition. The tank is over half full.
So I am getting spark, air, and fuel or at least starting fluid and nothing. Internally the bike sounds fine when it turns over, I even tried to push start it and it turned over with normal resistance so the compression is descent. My compression tester wouldn't fit the small plugs. If I fouled all the plugs at once it should at least somewhat fire with 2 new front plugs. I hate to take it to the dealer but I am pretty stumped at this point. Any ideas??? Thanks

I'll venture just one guess since you have covered almost everything. I'm no FI expert, but if something were holding open the throttle so it wasn't returning fully to the idle position, possibly the FI might not function right. In a similar situation, with the throttle plates held wide open on a carb'ed bike, it wouldn't want to start either.

 

I had virtually the same issue with my 2002 vfr v-tec. It turned out that the ground wire which connects from the gas tank to the frame was not tightly secure. Try to see if that is the case. I wouldn't be surprised if that is the problem.

 

Did you fix it? What was the problem? It could really help others down the road when they have the same issue when you post up the end results.
