I had big holes in my pipes when I picked this bike up. I followed the instructions in the Haynes manual and was surprised when I think it was step 7 that said "remove engine". Anyway the bike is totally stripped now with engine out. I've also started to strip the engine so I can check everything out. Once she's all back together I will be very surprised with myself and also quite proud! Stay tuned! image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Yes it's called the factory service manual. Throw that Haynes away.

Some internal parts can be EXTREMELY difficult to find so be careful how far you go til you know you can get parts to put back together. I have an engine in pieces because rod and main bearing do not exist.

Thanks for that guys, I might have to look for one of those factory manuals somewhere? I'm now thinkin I might just drop the sump to make sure there's no gunk in there and then start putting her back together. The bike was runnin sweet (but loud) when I got it!
