I just picked up this NC30 on Saturday. I drove all day to get it. The seller was kind enough to make a 3 hour round drip to shorten my round trip drive from 13 hours to 10.

For those not familiar with this model, they were never officially imported to the US. They were sold mostly in Japan, and some limited numbers of them were sold in the UK and other European countries. Titled examples are very rare in the US. The NC30 is the "baby brother or sister" to the rare/expensive RC30 VFR750R. Some of them even had the same red/white/blue color and graphics of the RC30.

It is wonderful to ride, so light and flickable. Yes, for what I paid for it, I could pick up any number of more modern, more capable 600cc sport bikes, I just love the V4's character. I also don't need the performance of a 600. The little 400cc V4 is more capable than you'd think for such a small engine. I do need to get a different muffler though. The stock Honda exhaust is typical Honda -- way too quiet.

Very nice!! They are popular here in SA, a while back people here realised how cheap/throwaway bikes were in Japan and container loads of grey 400's (all makes) were brought in.

    That looks very nice.
Maybe not as fast or exclusive (expensive) as its big brother, but looks just as good, has a pillion seat and you can actually get parts for them...

I'd love a VFR400R, but I'd need to sell another one of my bikes to make room in both my garage and marriage for another one. I keep thinking about selling the GSX1400 to make room for another Honda V4, but can't quite bring myself to do it.

Enjoy your very sexy new toy.

that thing looks great! i really like the paint scheme, especially the red wheels.

it reminds me of the red/blk hurricane 600 with red wheels i had for a couple of years.

Well done jas, i've recently bought one as well, unlike yours mine needs a lot of TLC - another ongoing project. They are a great little bike. What did you pay for it over there? Mine was £700 ie approx $1000. A good source of info etc is http://www.400greybike.com/default.htm

I hate and envy you guys with your new toys!

They come up from time to time on e-bay over here but they are often in poor shape with a sketchy past and no title so I stay away. But I still want...
