I guess this depends upon what kind of groups you ride with, but what do people typically say to you when they see your bike, the sweet V4.

I've gotten a variety of responses:

    1) What is that? - I typically say, "something new from NASA"
    2) I love the white microflake! - "It's pearl, and yes, I like it too."
    3) Why didn't you get something cooler? - "What?"

and of course, I get from non-riders a lot
    4) Sweet crotch-rocket! - and I reply in a very refined voice, "it's actually a sport-tourer"

I've even gotten, "is that an RC-51?" No, you moron.

I think the best I heard was when I pulled into a little gas station out in the country.

    From two old codgers sitting on a bench;

Codger # 1 " now would ya look at that "
Codger # 2 " what the.... looks like some kinda rocketship"

I had one guy ask me what it was because he saw the honda wing and he rode a CBR. He had no idea what it was, though. He loved the headlights. Couldn't believe it was a 98. Guess that's a testament to modern looks.

I was just getting on the bike leaving the grocery store when a late 20's, early 30's guy with long pony tail and scruffy, possibly high says "sssuuuuuwwwwweeeeeettttt".

I had a guy chasing me on a Bandit 1100 on a few backroads and a couple strait sections. I stopped to say hi and he asked me if my bike was a Ducati. I told him "no, it's a Honda" and his comment was - "well anyway, sounds mean, and that thing flat flies!" - I always wanted to be a pilot......

I have an all-asphalt black '04. One day last year I pulled into a 7-11 where a bunch of old yay-hoo's were leaning on the wall, and one said, "look at that street Nazi!".

And, I wasn't even wearing my brown shirt and armband! (Maybe some SS runes on the tank would make the bike look even more official.)

I had a car full of hispanic kids cut me off, then after I went around them, they pulled up next to me at a light. They looked at the (somewhat scraped up) bike, looked at me, and nodded approval. Then their turn-lane light went green.

Mostly I get people that have ridden the old RWB VFRs coming up and going "wow! I haven't seen one of those in years! I/my friend used to own one."

At breakfast on Sunday, my wife and I were stopped by another table of riders. They'd owned both the same RWB 700 I have and the same color Hawk as hers.

    I've gathered that:

    a) the RWB vfrs are VERY distinctive
    b) they were VERY popular in this area (SF Bay/SCruz)

"Hey, is that a 900?" - uh, no it's 'only' 800.... "who makes it?" ... uh, honda?

"Is that the 2007? man, that new red looks much better in person... wow" (fellow 5th gen VFR I met the other day)

Going to the grocery store one day when a teenager approvingly proclaimed "that's a 'sick' bike, man".

    Memorable historical comments......
Circa 1995. After purchase in West Tennessee, pumping gas while wearing Aerostitch. Senior citizen comments:
"That bike looks fast standing still. What you wearing that snowmobile suit for?"
Circa 1997. California Bay Area and a group of gradeschoolers peddals by the front of the house:
    "Dude, that's a tight bike"
Circa 2000. Kansas City, after lane splitting past about 15 cars, CA style to the stop line at a light. Hick in lifted truck says, "What the f*#k you doin'?!" as he turns in towards me and starts to blip the throttle.

    HAHA niceee.....
I always wondered what to say when people asked about my bike, guess that will be the answer, "You haven't heard of a VFR?! Don't insult my VFR."

VFR= Very fun ride....CBR= chiropractor Back Relief...LOL. I enjoy not seeing a VFR on every street corner as the very low numbers of VFR's in my area makes my bike unique..

On my previous Gen 6 had a young hoon in a hotted up Ricey car role up excitedly next to me at a set lights wanting to know if the side radiators were Turbo intercoolers.

On my Gen 5 an old guy with a Hot Rod wanted to know if the bike had a Supercharger after rolling into a Servo, he still seemed impressed after informing him the sound was from the Gear Driven Cam's.

Some guy mowing the lawn at my work stopped me yesterday to tell me he loved the underseat exhaust look and single sided swingarm. Everyone thinks the bike sounds fierce. My father, a harley man, doesnt like the high pitched whine of some sport bikes, but he loves the growl of the VFR!
