My idea is to take a corkscrew and use it to make a hole in the cat-that way I do not have to cut the cat in half to get that brick stuff out. What I do is simple get a corkscrew device put it though the hole and turn -out pops the brick junk then start the vfr to blow out the extra junk and simply reinstall the mid pipes and mufflers-instant more air flow and HP and noise!:smiley_simmons::bull_head:
The catalyst is usually in one piece. You'd play hell trying to bust it up & get it out of a hole. Gutting a cat will net you 2-3 HP at best. If you're that hard up for power, you'd be better served getting a power commander.
