    works for me...VTR1000f

helibars and sargeant seat...68K on her now.

i am enjoying my VFR700 and ride her more than my VTR.

But the vibes/sound of the V-2 and two brothers is intoxicating.

    :)

I'd be looking hard at Yamaha's new FZ-09.

Well I was gonna say a four night drunken binge including snorting blow off a hardbelly hookers ass but it's apparent you had a different bike in mind so ummmmm never mind.

Have you thought about the Aprillia Tuono? In my area 6-7k will get you a nice one. Not sure about insurance and maintenance however. Lots and lots (and lots) of power, fantastic adjustable suspension, but about the same ergos as a VFR800. Not sure my license could handle that hooligan monster.

I'm oilfield trash, I don't think I could swing a BMW motorsickle. That K1300S is pretty damn sweet though.

That Superhawk recommendation sounds like a great idea.

Hmm - this looks rather like a back from the grave thread. The person who started this thread has not been on here for 2 years.

The suggestions provided back in 2013 were valid then, but of course since then, manufacturers have released loads of amazing new bikes and virtually all of them are fuel injected to meet current emission requirements. Ducati make a wonderful V4 Panigale... the list is endless.

I'm still around. I ended up going with a 2014 VFR800F in 2016. I got a really good deal on a leftover model. Now I am pondering a replacement for that VFR in a couple years.

I got a Ducati Monster 1200 after the VFR. See my sig. It was awesome in many ways, including the size of the maint bills. :drink:

Loved it but sold it before moving 150 miles from the nearest dealer. Now on an SV650, lighter than VFR by a lot, peppy and handles good.
No it does not have the insane Braaaaaaaaaaaaap! Woot! of the Monster. But that brap is expensive and not necessary for me any longer. :)

Edit to add. Also had 1st and 2nd gen V Twin Tuonos. Also a good braaaaaaaaap woot! Less issues than the Duc as well. Although could just be that prior owners sorted the issues.

Every now and then I stop in and wander around my Honda/Kawasaki/Susuki dealer, a lot of nice bikes, but nothing I would rather have than my 2014 VFR800 Deluxe.

OK I will play. a few years ago I bought a used BMMW F800GS. But kept the VFR. It was a nice bike to ride but a bitch to work on, and extremely expensive at a BMW Stealership. SO I sold that. Was never happier. Then I bought myself a brand spanking new 2021 Africa Twin in spring of 2021. That bike has been to the bottom of Baja and up to Fairbanks. Over 22,000 km on that puppy. But I still have my VFR and probably will never sell it. I like it better than both the GS and the AT. KVR 1.jpg 2023-07-06 Squamish.jpg

I really really wanted one of those. You have no idea. Then when I was having some trouble with my 06 and the local dealership took a lot of my money but did not fix the problem, I found a used one exactly what I was looking for. All white to boot. And low mileage. I mean what could be better. The sun shone very bright that day and the stars lined up over night. But the skies clouded over, I was devastated. I took the bike out for a test ride for and hour. The ergonomics between the 8th get and 6th gen is considerable if you have back issues. I could not buy it. But that dealership found the problem with my 06 and fixed her up fine. But I would have loved to get an 8th gen. They look sickeningly sweet.
