    Will you huh?

I sold, actually traded my beloved Interceptor away. So I don't have a V4 anymore. But a guy from the V4bbs site does now. I traded him my bike plus $$ for his Super Blackbird. I left yesterday morning at 6am with my bike in a trailer and got back to my house 3am sat morning from a 1000 mile jaunt with a nice Red Blackbird. I got it all legal today and put on 40 miles. This thing has a warp drive thingy on it that all you do is twist it and you're in the next century!!

So can I still hang out here and do you still love me?

What year and mileage on the new toy? I think most people would agree that the Blackbird is a fine machine and that you are still welcome here and at any VFR gathering. Do you mind telling how much cash you had to give in addition to your trade?

Of course we will still love you. After all, you're still riding a Honda. Personally the Super Blackbird is one of my all time favorite liter bikes. If I were to ever trade off my beloved VFR, the Blackbird would be the choice for both myself and the wife. Fabulous looking bike Grey.

    Nope, hate you, mean it.

Warp drive? Sheesh, it'll only break the speed limits in 47 states. Wimp.

Go away, son, you bother me.

Just because I can't afford a new bike, people think I have an attitude.

    Nice.

I almost bought a 98' Blackbird when I was looking for a VFR. One of my all time favorite bikes although I've never ridden one. What a nice color too, great pick up there.

I have a friend that traded his 2001 VFR for a Blackbird. It's a nice bike. I rode it and it is not nearly as piggy as I thought it would be. It feels smaller than it is when you are in the saddle.

Ah thanks but I'd rather have your avatar girl protect me. It looks like she's packen pretty good.

Rollin my bike + 3k. So like 5k for the bike, luggage and little goodies. What made the deal real easy was him taking my bike. Other wise I don't think I would have gotten another bike at this time.

Scubalong you just might get a chance next June. So stay tuned.

Yeah that was a nice swap. I been thinking much long and hard lately on major garage changes. It might include the '69 and other things. The boat is gone arrangements have been made for the first of the year. I've been keeping the VFR out of discussion but lately that position is softening. In favor of what? Don't know solidly. Maybe a truly nuts classic car. Or a stable of silly bikes. Time for a change though. Confidence is high. Set Defcon IV.

I've always been the kind of guy that keeps certain things forever and trades others. I have never sold a weapon. Every one I have I acquired for its utility or oddity. Bikes I've run tnrough like beer. But I have really enjoyed this VFR. Makes you think a bit. I know its alll machinery but every now and then you hang on to something just because, no reason

I'm always up to a least discuss a nice trade though.

The VFR is such a sweet street bike. I think about selling it sometimes. Then I ride it and remember why I have put the time and money into it to make it reliable (electrical) and stable in the corners (suspension). I can ride the thing all day and still walk when I get off of it.

Rode and worked on them Dos X bikies, they ride nice. Took a co-workers 100,000 mile unit oot just to give it my blessing, when I came back from my lunch ride, he couldnt believe his petrol was all gone! I told him, that it vibrated the right handle bar a tad but was good to 170 MPH with no wobbles or anything. Its a Honda, it will run for ever...

    Just be warned of the severe list of problems the Blackbirds suffer from;
1, Warp drive switch is very easy to engage (can even engage accidentally) and can sometimes be a real bugger to disengage,
2, the elastic holding down the tool kit under the seat rots after 3-4 years and needs replacement.

That's what I've heard about the warp switch. I just went down and checked my rubber hold down. No signs of breakage, which is good for rubbers, right?

I did get a chance to get close to redline once in 2nd and 3rd. The TORQUE is astonishing!! Just like my goat, it puts your sphincter in to your throat, literally! I think I'm going to like this bike.

Vfourbear I know what you mean about keeping things. My Interceptor was the majority of my motorcycling career and a bike that had few rivals for one up sport touring for a 3/4 liter bike. It was part of me. I've had my goat since 94 but I'm even thinking of selling it. With the way gas prices are, it's not much fun tooling around in it when it cost at least $40 a day just to putt around. Well may be not just putt. That's the only downside about classic muscle cars for me. Though if you want to get in to that let me know. I can give you some good info on finding one may be.

Greyvfr750f - you are starting to worry me with the goat and sphincter comments. It really is building an unpleasant and hard to erase picture in my mind.
    Please stop.
