43 and loving my VFR. When I met my wife she had her own helmet in her truck. The only problem is the snow right now. Im tired of riding in small circles in the garage.

After some 30 years away from the street I picked up an 84 VF1100c not running. She's running now! Has given me an education on big Honda V4s. What fun! Old man, never say die, running the high passes on an old muscle bike. Watch out! Now, at 63 I am thinking a 4th Gen will be my next project. Affordable quality ride. It could be the the bike that "lasts:. Cruiseres and tourers have thier place but I still crave a little spice.

I've looked at other bikes, but once you own a V4, it's in your blood, at nearly 70, not much left! Goin' fer a ride now!

I'm 65. The VFR is one of my more conservative rides, not counting Harleys, of course.

53, going on 54 this year. Been riding all sorts of Honda's since I was 12....
DAX75, XL100, And my dad's bikes... CB750, CB750 Supersport, CB550, GL1000, CBX1000, CX500, then bought my own bikes after graduating college... an 88 Honda Hawk GT, and now still riding the VFR750S I bought new in 95!.....
Despite many close calls because of inattentive car drivers and one badly misjudged corner in the mountains a few years ago, through the years I've been very lucky to have never crashed or dropped any bike (except for a slow motion lay down of my Hawk when I grabbed the front brake while the front fork was turned full lock on a grassy parking lot) in my life....knock on wood....
I do have to admit that gearing up seems to take much longer and much more effort every ride as the years go by, but once rolling I feel like I'm easily feeling a decade or more younger. Heck, my throttle hand does not even cramp and numb up like it used to years ago!
I expect to keep and continue riding my 4th Gen for the forseeable future...maybe till I croak As I can never seem to find anything else out there that can even come close to justify replacing it

I am 66 years old. I have a 1996 VFR and a 1998 VFR. I also have a Honda dirt bike and a BMW k1200 LT. I enjoy riding and I intend to spend some time on the racetrack this summer.

Brilliant :bravo: - indeed why not? Track days are great fun, so never let age hold you back - none of us are getting any younger so go ahead and do it before some medical spoil sport gets in the way. "Growing old disgracefully" is the motto of a club I ride with over in Europe, and they have folks well north of 80 who think nothing of riding across the continent and are still collecting performance awards from LEOs :biggrin1:

I realise this is your first post on the forum - so welcome to the MadHouse:welcome:.

Take your time to find your way around. You will find the various sub-forums can be found by scrolling down the Home page.

When you get a chance please start a new post in the "introductions" sub-forum and say hello to the rest of the folks on here, and make sure you post up a photo or two of your VFR's - otherwise some folks on here may think you are a spy:spy: and start ragging on you until you do provide proof those VFRs exist. (To add a photo just use the "insert image" icon which appears whenever you reply or create a new post(its two to the right of the envelope icon).

You may also want to update your forum profile using the "My Profile" tab which is right at the top of the page, and include the year/specs of your bikes/VFRs and a rough location - city/state is fine. That way the information will appear beside all your posts, and if you need help with something you may find someone willing to swing by and offer help or advice - especially if there is an offer of some beer tokens:drink:

Take care and enjoy the racing!

I'm with you there SpeedyBob, I'll be 70 in Oct. I have my original 83 VF750F, but it is hibernating in New York State. Marital circumstance have changed and ended up in CA. First bike I looked at was a used K1300 with a lot of farkles for $17K, decided to look for something a little more reasonable, found my 03 VFR on Craigslist. Don't think I'll go the track, but the idea of a dirt bike to toss around and learn riding in the dirt.

Lot of great information and tips in this Forum, make good use of it.

I'm not reading all 11 pages so I'm not sure if this is on topic any longer, but...

An acquaintance of mine is 78 and rides an '09 GSXR1000. He rides it very well, too. I don't think age has anything to do with it.

56 and still get excited to twist the throttle on ANY bike. I have a 2001 Hayabusa, the wifes 1996 VFR and we just picked up a 2001 BMW R1100RT for two up . I've ridden "Performance" orientated bikes on and off road all my life.Well since 15. I hate the term 'crotch rocket'! Does that make your cruiser a 'A-hole anchor'? Cruisers hurt my back.
4 out of 5 siblings ride and I'm the youngest. Age is only a number. Work out and stay as healthy as you can. Enjoy life!

51 here. Took 15 years off and started riding again last year. Just purchased my 4th bike since last year. A 1996 vfr 750. I rode this bike a little last season and I love the sound and feel of it. I can't wait for the Minnesota roads to clear.
