Hi, im new to the forums and just got a 1996 vfr after 19 years after not riding bikes, my first bike was a 400 Honda hawk when I was 17 years old, had that for a year and sold it for a 1984 500 interceptor then bought a new 1986 VFR which I ended up selling 19 years ago, im 49 now this past summer I decided I wanted the get a bike again after riding my friends bike and felt like I never been off a bike for so long so i bought a 1978 Cb 750 which I have been working on into a café racer,

Welcome to the site Crxnug. For questions and friends you have certainly found the right place. Don't forget to post up some photos of your new ride or for certain you shall be hassled until you do.

As for the Delkevic exhaust, I can say with honesty that it is a great sounding pipe. A few years ago after purchasing my 2000 VFR I wanted to remove the 20lb boat anchor that was the stock exhaust on my steed. I decided on the Delkevic as my exhaust upgrade was on a budget and the Delkevic certainly fit the bill. Cost including delivery to our side of the border was less than $165 Canadian and the results, audibly speaking are well worth the expense. Just this past October we purchased a 1996 VFR750 for my wife and it also came with an 18" Delkevic slip on. It is a low mount model but it certainly sounds as good if not better than it looks. The Delkevic has a nice basey growl at idle but is by no means obnoxious. She starts out as a low burble and when coerced can become a snarling feline with ferocious sounding intent. The wail emanating forth from the baffles never becomes so deep and ominous sounding so as to become a bore or droning sounding but the sweet burble of a push rod American V8 pales by comparison to the basey grumble of the VFR.

A high pipe would certainly aid in the visual note of the bikes profile but should nary change the sweet sounding exhaust. The exhaust on my 2000 VFR is identical in all respect, yet the sound emanating forth from the tip of the exhaust pipe on my wife's 96 VFR sounds soooooo much better than even I could imagine.

In case you hadn't already guessed, I would give the Delkevic a thumbs up.

Once again, welcome to the WORLD, and enjoy the bike as much as we know you will.

Hi and welcome to the MadHouse:welcome:

When you get time, please swing by the introductions forum to say hello and ideally post up some pictures of your VFR. Some of the folks will start ragging on you if you don't as they won't believe it exists without at least one photo! (click the icon two to the right of the envelope and follow the prompts).

Where in Canada are you? - As you will quickly discover we have a large contingent of Canadians on here:canada:. You may want to update your forum profile to include your rough location and bike details - that way they will appear with all your posts and if you need help or run into problems you may find someone on here willing to drop by and offer help/advise in exchange for some beer tokens...

    Meantime take care.
