Hi all! I just bought a 1990 VFR 750 from a friend and i m working on it right now. I had a Ninja 600 1992 4 years ago but had to sell it because i needed money.

So i was working on my clutch lever because it needed a brass bushing (simple task part number 22885-MB0-006) but i noticed that another brass bushing (the long one where the pivolt bolt is going though) was completely worn out. If broke in half when i separated the two main parts of the lever. Its the one that comes with the lever ant it seems i cant order one without the lever.

Here is a link for pics:

The bushing needed to change is part 3.

The other one comes with part 22 (50$) complete lever.

I know Motion Pro makes a OEM looking lever that would fit (Model 14-0220) but since i have the OEM Honda lever i would like to change only the bushing.

Have you already had this issue???

    Thanks!

    Yves

BTW i m from Quebec and i m new to this forum. I will probably use it a lot since i m completely restoring that old bike.

You would only need #24 for a lever with the bushing if the rest of the assembly is intact, but any machine shop with a lathe could make a brass bushing and give it the old in and out.

Heat up the lever a couple hundred degrees and the bush will come right out with a little pressure, measure it up and make a sketch with dimensions--anybody with a lathe could easily make one. Then heat the lever and press it back in...

Welcome aboard, and congrats on the bike. I too have a 90, and am loving it more and more each day.

As far as your part dilemma, give old eBay a try. You should be able to find pretty much anything on there.

Yeah Kenny youre right. All i need is the bushing i could have a machine shop make one for me. The old bushing will be easy to take out cause one side is completely worn out so i can pry it out. It s in the shape of a U. I will take a look if a can find a place to make one for me. I just have to bring the lever and bolt they could measure and make one.

Sorry if my english is bad i m a french canadian! ;)

I just received a Motion Pro jobber clutch lever and i replaced the small brass bushing i took from the dealer. I lubed all that and installed it and it s all like new. Looking OEM also. I noticed when comparing the old and new lever, my old was bent! So i paid 8$ bushing and 22$ lever . 30$ for a tight feel, it s a good deal.

    Thanks
