So I found a parts bike for a few hundred....was thinking of parts for later use and maybe change the look of the bike.
    Before:
The fairings /tank ect on my bike are pretty much pristine. So I took off the fairings from the parts bike and after much time preparing got them wrapped and painted second set of rims (too cheap to powder coat)
Got my new decals from extremedecals.com only took a week from Malta to Ontario....pretty good in my books.
Now if I decide to change back to original I can do it in about an hour:eek:nthego:

"Now if I decide to change back to original I can do it in about an hour"

That's a pretty good slam-damned idea. I'm repainting my '86. Want to keep it as original as possible.
I almost have a complete set of extra fairings & a line on another fuel tank.
Now you have my empty mind thinking of other paint schemes.
I've used Reproduction Decals in the past. They don't list the ones for the '86 700/750's if you send them an E-Mail their way quick on getting back to ya.

    Thanks.

Took her out couple days ago and nothing fell off! Then we got some snow and frickin' freezing temps again....
She's all cozy in the garage for now.
I didn't notice all those high cards...maybe I should hit the casino?

Did you do the wrap yourself? Was it possible to do the tank in one piece? I've often thought of tackling the job myself. Maybe I should be on the lookout for a parts bike to practice on!

No friend did it who works at a sign shop..he had to put an extra piece at the front of the gas tank. but it's hardly noticable. I'll see how the wrap wears and if I decide to change my mind and paint it later so be it.....

Looks good, I like the Grey. Are you going to Shannonville for the vintage bike racing in may?

Another option if you are wanting to try a colour change but unsure, is Platidip Paint. It is a little expensive, in the neighbourhood of $20.00 per can. It comes out with a bit of a matt finish. But the beauty of it all is that it peals off with your fingers in huges sheets if you don't like it. EASILY! yet it stays on good. Really neat stiff for some applications. You can obtain a bit of a gloss finish from Plastidip by clearcoating over top but it is a finicky pain in the ass to peel it off afterward. Or so their videos show.

You can get this stuff in clear as well. That serves very well if you are the type who kicks his toes over your hard bags when you get on your bike. When the plastidip starts showing its wear, peal it off and re-apply.

Just a thought. But that looks nice. The gold wheels gives it just that little pop.
