So both are under 2k miles the 2007 has a two bro exhaust the 2008 has heli bars. So, a couple of questions. Mechanicall are they the same? I have read earlier models had some Throttle issuses I think that was before 2005.. What are the big service interval's in terms of cost 12 18 24? with these low mileage bikes fork seals won't be an issue nor the brakes.

    Thank you in advance
    Matt. P.s. anyone in CO

To me it's a no brainier...get the 2007! They're both the same bike but the Anniversary edition RWB is a classic. From 2002-2005 it's the same bike and from 2006-2009 they are the same bike, the only difference is the color and if it had ABS. The service intervals are every 16k miles, at least for valve checks and other engine related maintenance items. Other than oil & spark plug changes, these bikes are typically gas it and go.

BTW, Welcome to The World and yes there are a few members located in CO, I'm sure they'll chime in soon.

I'd be all over the '07.

Same Bike. Difference between models prior to '05 is the engagement point on Vtec. Think the '06 and up was 6400, and prior to that it was 6800.

Note that while the big service is suggested at 16K miles, I'd bet 90% of the guys on here forgo that service, or found that everything was in spec. Consider it will be about a $600-$800 service at the dealer.

Make sure you check out the tires, too. If both these bikes have original tires (considering the super low miles), you'll need to get those removed and replaced immediately. Aside from the fact that stock tires were shit, you're looking at 6-7 year old tires. That's way too old.

This is a very important point. Older tires will have hardened and can cause you to slide out on a mild turn.

thank you... I agree about the tires. what does RWB mean? I think I can get the 2007 for about 6250 it has 1800 miles. My concern is the two bros baffles. The original pipes come with the bike and are not blued yet. I will keep everyone posted have a great day at work and keep the rubber side down.

As mention above they are identical beside the paint scheme. Get which ever bike that your  tell you.
    Good luck with your decision.

..where do these low mileage bikes hide?! I just picked up an '08 with 34k kms (21k miles)! But I got a smokin' deal so I'm not complaining. Welcome aboard - get some new boots if they are the originals (most likely) and pick the bike you want... check them both out :)

A few dealers in these parts had a few in close out bought in lots. A few years ago they listed them for 9k many of those who bought them at that price tried to sell them back to them to the dealers for 7k dealers said no I will buy them back for 4500 then list them for 7k. So, I have observed here that the owners turn to craigs list. In the RWB expamle the owner is in his late 50's has babied the bike and wants it to go to a good Family

    Yo Matthew,

    I'm in Denver *CHIME*

Get what you like the most. Don't let the other sway you into the RWB. Just b/c it's the pinnacle of awesomeness is why they are saying what they are.

You are welcome to hit me up if you want to see what you like about my set-up. Heli's, Sargent seat, FMF pipes, Buell pegs, VFRness, twist lock tank bag with electric kit, HID's, yuk yuk. It's a poster child of this message board with it's set-up. Though I have never posted a pic.

Really depends on whether you like the silver or the RWB. I wouldn't worry about the exhaust, you can always put the stock exhaust back on.

If the miles, condition, and price are the same, I would just pick the color that you like the most. That's what dictated which bike i got... I knew I wanted candy glory red, so it had to be an 07 :)

That's not me, I live and work on the SW side of town. Once you get a bike, check out www.cosportbikeclub.org/forums to meet new people and find rides.

You work at Erico? Funny, I work at BMW of Denver Motorcycles (which is in Aurora, of course) in sales. Did parts and gear for three years so that's five that I have been here. Go punch Watson in the throat and tell him Timmy from BMOD said hi or just go throat punch him and don't mention me.

No whining about a two hour drive. I had to go to Chanute KS for mine. 600mi each way!

Bing-o-.... Watson is surprised you know what a throat is. I have a 97 R1100RT but I want something that is flick-able. Don't get me wrong the Duc's are nice The triumphs are cool but I want something with a bit more of a cult like following and historic. If that makes any sense. :biggrin-new:

You'll be just fine with either one. Just visited Colorado for the first time last July in a six-state trip. Colorado is a great state.
