    Great Thread,

My first adventure on 2 wheeled non peddle bikes was a Verucci Chinese Scooter, that we still have, think it still runs with 15,000 miles on the odometer.

First Motorcycle, 1996 Seca II Diversion, that had gunked carbs, no tread on the tires, blown fork seals, and a slew of other problems.

Then almost got a 1991 VFR 750, but the deal took to long.
Then got the 1996 VFR 750 that I still have, although it needs repairs, because of a highside.
Also have a 1979 Yamaha XS1100 Special which is a great old bike that turns heads because you dont see them very often, and that thing is a rocket ship in a straight line.

My first bike was a Suzuki GSX 750 EF -84 and then i got the Suzuki GSX 750F -01. The first one were so windsensitive that you almost always were leaning even in straight driving. The F were very forgiving, i liked it alot.

First bike was a 1983 Suzuki GS 400e - was totaled the first day I got my license by a large bag of insulation that was blown across the road (about the size of a car)
Second Bike 1984 Suzuki GS 400f - Company that owned the insulation replaced the 83 with a brand new 84 and replaced my leathers,Gloves and boots too.
third bike 1985 VF500F -did a custom paint job and swapped the rear gear for a 47 tooth. Sold it in 1990 to put a down payment on a VFR750R (RC-30) but was layed off 3 weeks later and had to get my down payment back.
............ 23 years later picked up a 84 VF500F as a winter project and to have a little fun with

Still want to get a RC-30 but damn they are expensive now. In 1990 they were $12,600 and I had the use of one for a weekend to test at the local track. Damn thing at the time was NUTS,would hit 140kph in second gear.

The bandit 600 is so comfortable for me at 6'1".. But never had the pleasure to ride one. How would you compare it to your 6th gen VFR? I hear the suspension is much better on Viffer.

My B-6 was a 2000, so it wasn't all that advanced. It was however, a pleasure to ride. Nothing fancy, just the kind of bike you hopped off of and smiled because it was simply fun.
To answer your question- the VFR is a lot more bike. The suspension is definitely better (meaning it can be adjusted).

Bringing this great thread back from the dead. My only other bike was an '88 Kawasaki EX500. A bit of a rat bike, but plenty fun to ride and it taught me how to wrench.

Adding to the list of former ex500 owners here as well. I had the targa lower full fairing. It was a lot of fun.

My VFR 700 has clogged carbs, which is how I bought it on the cheap, so I haven't even felt the difference yet. I'm hoping once the bike can get some fuel it's noticabley not an ex500, even though like everyone else that had one I did really enjoy it.

Love my ex-high-five aka Ninja 500. Had a race bike that was a 94 with the first year of the 17 inch front wheel and now I got a 04 EX. Its an amazing all around bike for "on the cheap." Mine does over 120mph with the new Michelin radial tyres and its just a little "hell of a ride" end of story. I had two 750 Nighthawks from 91 and 93 and thought they were the shizzle too, but have had the opportunity to work on some in the recent years and when I rode them again, I did'nt get that warm fuzzy feeling of yore. They kinda sucked. Not so with the EX/. My first street bike was an Elimiinator 600 ZL, total shaft drive turd of a bike. Had to ride it 40,000 miles before it finally let go (cir-clip in gear box.) So the last new new bike I bought, was a 93 Nighthawk sad to say...Bought my VFR used in 95 for $4500 and 4000 miles. Cheers happy safe riding...

I really liked the full fairing, but for my sort-of rat bike, it seemed a bit too luxurious.

Mine had pink and purple graphics coming off of the teal in that pic, and 500 written in white outlined in pink on the tail on both sides. I pulled that shit off and it made the bike very nice looking. The Vance and Hines made it sound as good as a 500 twin can sound.

When I get the VFR going - i'll have been off of a motorcycle for two years. Can any former ex500 owners explain the difference in how this and my 87 VFR 700 will feel? The ninja was very fun, but mostly in 6 digit rev ranges.

Ok since no one has done it yet:
Previous rides: blondes and brunettes mostly, the odd red-head. Had one with neon blue once, but to much on maintenance.

Ok joking aside, first bike that I owned (not rode or learned on) was a '81 honda cm200t twinstar and I still have it. Since getting the vfr, havent wanted another bike, well other than another vfr.
