I sold my 91 a while ago and now want another VFR. If I can get this for $1900 do you think it is worth it? Mechanically all is good just a crack on faring where bolt was tightened down too much. Guy just wants it gone asap. What do you guys think?

Even at $2400, it sounds pretty good to me. Had one of that generation and loved it.

Well after I talked to the guy he sent me a text saying if I come get it tonight he would let it go for $1800. So I jumped on it. Bike only has 22xxx and paint and bike itself is in excellent condition. He bought it from an older Honda guy who took meticulous care of it last fall and he was only able to put 20 miles on it last year and now he bought a new car and wanted it out of the garage before he hit it with the car lol.

    Now my question is....

What do I need to look for or watch out for with the 4th gens. I know the 3rd gens had voltage regulator problems, is that the same with 4th gens?? What other things should I keep an eye out for?

The bike looks great, do you have a close up of the issue with the fairing? Seems like you got a great deal! Congratulations!

Damn man! Is that a Corbin and a Staintune? You stole that bike! With so few rides the past couple years, you may need the carbs cleaned on that 4th gen. As for the R/R, it's a Honda. I'd replace it and beef up the charging system with thicker gauge wire & add a volt meter with the money you saved on the purchase price.

Thanks guys. Yes that is a corbin seat and a Staintune. I had never heard of staintune until the guy told me he had to get it from Australia. Here are a couple other pics of how clean it is and the only crack in the faring. I just took it out for about an hour around town and she runs and shifts flawless. no hesitation in acceleration or anything.

91 - You truly secured a fantastic bike for the price you paid. The Staintune alone is probably worth $350! I currently have a 2003 VTEC VFR. My previous bike was a '94 VFR. I loved that '94. I had a Two Brothers shorty exhaust on it and it sounded incredible. The Staintunes are even better. The only weak spot on that bike is the RR as others have noted. My RR went out at about 15,000 miles. I would replace yours unless you know it has been replaced already. If the bike sat for a year without a battery tender, the battery is probably permanently degraded. That will stress the RR even more so you may want to replace it too.
