    Hey guys,

Its been a while since I posted but I thought I should ask for opinions on a situation I'm dealing with over at partzilla.com.

I ordered a rear rotor from the for my 2007 VFR800 ABS using their microfiche, but when I received the part, I had problems with my ABS light not turning off. Turns out, the part the sent me was for the Non-ABS model and it was missing the pulse ring used by ABS. Turns out I have to replace the pulse ring from my part, so when I figured that out, I tried to swap the ring, but the part I received would not work since it didnt have the holes for the bolts needed. I received a part for the NON ABS model even though it is listed on their site for the VFR800A.

I contacted them about it and they seemed to agree that it was a mistake on their microfiche but when I gave them my VIN, they said I used the wrong VFR800A model, the 2AC rather than the AC model. When I explained that it didn't matter if it was the 2AC or AC model, they were both ABS and needed the ABS part, they refused to correct a mistake caused by them and one which they partially agreed was a mistake on their site.

The part is http://www.partzilla.com/parts/detail/honda/HP-43251-MCW-D01.html still shown as used on a 2007 VFR800A.

At this point, I've tried to explain the situation to no avail and they're using the "your bike is the AC not 2AC, you got the wrong part because you used the wrong bike model" excuse to not fix the issue.

At this point, do you guys think I have any way of getting this fixed or am I out of luck?

EDIT 1: Removed my email address.

The VIN number I provided is irrelevant, the part needed for the 2AC model
is the same as the AC model since they both need the ABS part for the
    VFR800A.

There may be an issue with the 2AC page; however, that is not your model. Based on the VIN# that you provided to me, you have VFT800A AC, not the 2AC.

I do believe that I was looking at a VFR800A. If you look at microfiche at:

    http://www.hondapartshouse.com/oemparts/a/hon/5053f631f870021c54be7e51/rear-wheel
    http://www.dealercostparts.com/page...R_WHEEL/VFR800A-07-JPN-2AC/2Y14MCW6MCWAF1700J
    http://www.partspitstop.com/oemparts/a/hon/5053f631f870021c54be7e51/rear-wheel
    http://www.babbittsonline.com/oemparts/a/hon/5053f631f870021c54be7e51/rear-wheel

If its the model VFR800A AC or VFR800A 2AC, they both list the correct
    part, 43251-MCW-D11.

If you then look at your own pages for both the VFR800A AC or VFR800A 2AC:

    http://www.partzilla.com/parts/search/Honda/Motorcycle/2007/VFR800A+AC/REAR+WHEEL/parts.html
    http://www.partzilla.com/parts/search/Honda/Motorcycle/2007/VFR800A+2AC/REAR+WHEEL/parts.html

you will find that the discrepancy rests with your 2AC page, as it lists
both the 43251-MCW-D01 and 43251-MCW-D11 for the VFR800A.

Regardless of the model being chosen being the AC or 2AC, they are both the
ABS model and should correctly list the part D11 as the ONLY option, as ALL
other parts sellers only list the D11 regardless of AC or 2AC model, as
shown in the above competitors pages.

With the information provided above, I believe that the error on the
partzilla page led to this incorrect part being selected, and I believe it
    lies with Partzilla to correct.

Please let me know what you think.

Below I have listed a link to your particular model and item 17, part number 43251-MCW-D11 is what you should have ordered based on your VIN#.

Call them and talk to a human. Escalate it to as high as you can if you don't get anywhere with the peons. I would think that they would have no problem swapping out the wrong one. If they won't, then lesson learned and use bikebandit.com or servicehonda.com or pick another supplier. I use bikebandit constantly and haven't had a problem.

Technically it sounds like they are correct and you ordered the part based on the incorrect model according to the VIN. If you had ordered the part for the AC rather than the 2AC would you
have gotten the correct part? If so then you're kind of up the creek if they want to be really picky. It looks like they are just being pissy about the whole thing, when they should just own up
to the fact their parts fiche lists the wrong part.

IMO they should step up and replace the part since the parts fiche is incorrect, even though it's not really the parts fiche for your bike, based on the VIN. Good customer service would demand
that they fix the error, even though strictly speaking it's not completely their fault.

Of course all the above is based on the hope that I understood the post correctly. LOL

If you ordered the part for the 2AC, then it should fit the 2AC. What motorcycle you have is irrelevant. If the part you received does not fit the 2AC due to an error in the microfiche, that's all Partzilla's fault. Keep at it, politely.

If you do get stuck with it, I'm sure you can get at least half your money back by reselling it here. Better than nothing.

If you don't get anywhere with partzilla, you can also try to take up the issue with your credit card company and get your money back.

I was gonna suggest just selling it on here and getting the correct part. For the cost of a rotor, you have already done more arguing with them than I would have. I'd just let them know you will no longer use their service, and that you posted your experience on one of the biggest online VFR forums on the planet. I believe we have over 20,000 users now. (Not that many are active but they don't need to know that.)

If it's a recent transaction and you used a credit card, have your cc company stop payment...that will get someone's attention!!

If I used AC rather than 2AC I would have received the correct part but only because the AC partsfiche did not have errors.

I of course agree that it should be theirs to fix as it was their site that had an error!

I completely agree, if the part was correctly listed, it does not matter if its 2AC or AC, it should fit an ABS bike, but they don't seem to think so.

If they don't fix the issue, I will probably try selling the part to recoupe some of the cost.

It shouldn't matter what bike you own. You could own a harley bagger and just bought have bought the rotor for whatever reason. If the part they sent isnt for the AC, and that's the fiche you used, you should get your money back.

I was looking for some items recently and this site came up. I will probably avoid them now just because I was a little leery of an operation this big keeping their information accurate anyway.
