I recently bought a 2004 gen 6 VFR used from a local dealership and I'm having an issue I don't know if it's related to fueling or if it's electrical. It seems to be running out of fuel at times and stumbles and begins to run rough. It doesn't matter where you are in the rpm range at all. The exhaust has been gutted but that's the only modification I can tell that's been done. Anybody got any ideas ?

FI is sensitive to low voltage, so first check should be determining charging voltage at battery terminals @ 5000 rpm.

Thanks man. I'll do that. You don't think the gutted exhaust could be causing the problem?

Wouldn't FI computers compensate for that ?

Gutted exhaust is not your problem. Check for stored ECM codes.

What's the procedure for doing that? Does it require a trip to a dealership?
