Wanted - Corbin seat for VFR 800 FI (pre VTEC)

Hi guys & gals..

This might be a bit of a long shot, but here goes..

I am looking for a (used) Corbin seat for my VFR 800 FI ('01 model). I can't really justify the price of a new one for an old bike, but I find the stock seat uncomfortable for long rides (and I have a 2 week trip to Spain upcoming in a few weeks). I am willing to pay a fair price for a seat in good condition, plus the shipping costs. I am in Ireland (probably the wrong side of the Atlantic for some..), but can pay using Western Union or Pay Pal. Alternately, I have a brother State side and can get him involved in any transaction for those squeemish at shipping overseas..

PS: Don't want any red piping on the seat.. plain black is preferable (the bike is blue)

there is a 5th gen seat on here for sale, but the seller is not comfortable shipping out of the country. Hence this post..have been looking for one for a while now..anyone else have one lying around and willing to ship to Ireland?

Just out of curiosity, have you considered a Sargent or even having your stock seat redone? I was a big fan of the Corbin seats, so when I bought my VFR I started looking for another Corbin. Once I got it, I was all set to love it. I hated it after only using it for about a month. The shape, the texture, and the hardness of it were absolutely wince inducing. I got lucky and straight traded for a Sargent and I loved that seat from the very first time I sat on it.

I have also heard of people getting their stock seat redone for about half the cost of a Sargent and being very pleased with them. And you wouldn't have to pay for shipping. Just wanted to give you some options.

 

yes.. will consider all options. Not sure if there is anyone locally who can redo the stock seat, and will also see if there are any Sargent seats available.. I DO know that the stock seat is not made for long rides..
