Hello, Found the forum really helpful and thought I should introduce myself. Im riding a 99 red gen5 thats pretty stock with the exception of an r3 Yoshimura slip on. I bought the vfr on a whim and find it a nice ride compared to my previous bikes. I live in the Gold Coast in australia and love getting out and about on the weekends as it makes the 500km a week commute to work worth riding the bike. Hope to meet a few other riders for trips out. Hi Extra and welcome to the MadHouse:welcome: You join a growing contingent of VFRWorld members down under, and if you intend racking up those kms on the VFR you will be giving the 99 quite a workout so keep on top of the servicing. You may want to check out posts in the 5th Gen part of the forum - as there are some well known electrical issues which can leave you stranded. ... http://vfrworld.com/forums/showthread.php/39277-How-to-fix-common-regulator-Stator-failures Perhaps the most important hint for your first post is that the folks on here really like to see pictures. So if you don't want folks raggin on you, go straight out and take a photo of your VFR and then go back to your first post and click on the Edit post option, and then the "Insert Image" icon and follow the prompts to upload a photo asap. Its also a good idea to update your forum profile (forum actions+edit profile) so that it includes the specs of your bike along with a rough location city/state is fine. That way the information will appear alongside all your posts and if you need help you may find someone nearby willing to swing by and help especially if you have a well stocked beer fridge . Take care SkiMad
:welcome: to the madness from across the pond  Glad to have you and congratulation on your new ride arty2: ++++++1 for Skimad
Welcome! I have bought other bikes (in hopes of restoring them) but this site is PRICELESS. So much knowledge, so many people willing to help. It's first rate. Love that VFR like we all love ours! Here's to many more safe miles. MTB
