If someone has (or would like to scan) the PDF instructions/manual for the 6th Gen. OE heated grips, I would be eternally thankful. I searched this forum, the internet, and planet Mars. Why Honda doesn't provide support documents for its products on the web is beyond me.

The OE part # is: 08T50-MCW-KIT2

    Thanks in advance.

Hopefully your local Honda motorbike dealership is as good as mine - in which case drop by on the VFR - blag a free coffee from the sales department and then with parts in hand go ask the nice lass behind the parts counter for a print out of the installation instructions. Chances are, she will be happy to print them off from their dealers system and provide them to you without charge. If so celebrate with another free coffee and then take the bike for a spin on the way home.

As for the reasoning Honda why don't put install instructions on-line - its to get you through the doors of their dealerships, and in your case is probably going to work - even if you don't end up buying anything - plus there is always a chance you just may wander past and fall in love with a brand new 8th Gen!:vtr2:

    Take care

Thanks Scubalong, but not the same push-button OE kit. I want to keep the PDF for my files - future reference & for more details on the voltage protection/indicator circuit. The grips are already installed, so I'm not looking for mech. know-how.

    Skimad,

I work for a dealership, and there is no info available on Honda Web. For that matter, there is no pretty lass either - just a big 350lb guy named Gus. 0 for 2...damn!

So no match for Caroline! Meantime I wonder if that link by Scubalong could solve the problem? From one of the posts it looks like "deltazulu" has installed the grips you are talking about. Perhaps you might try sending him a PM to see if he still has the install instructions and would be willing to scan & email them to you? Just a thought!

Anybody have any ideas on who might still carry the OEM Honda heated grips for the 6th gen?

I've got a 2006 I'm thinking of adding the heated grips to - and the Honda kits don't seem to be that easy to find.

Have you check out Oxford...? Cheaper and work the same. I have my for several years and love it.
Time for a new set for me  The grips are torn after so may years of used.
If you like OEM ST1300 will work, try Ebay found several set for sale. Good luck :thumb:

Hey, new member here, but I have been lurking.

Is there a tutorial/DIY for adapting the ST1300 heated grips to a 5th/6th gen? I've looked at the part diagrams for these and the VFR1200 versions and couldn't figure it out.

I prefer the integration with the switch built into the end of the grip rather than the big control box for the other Honda grips and Oxfords or the type of switches that come with kits like the symtecs.

The Honda heated grips for the 6th gen have disappeared off the internets... David Silver Spares might be able to help. You can e-mail them with a request. I asked them about those around a year ago and they quoted about $270.
