I just wanted to let you guys know that I've recently released a fork cartridge upgrade kit. These are available for all years VFR750 and VFR800. I've been working hard on these for the past couple of years and they are finally ready. One of the biggest goal for this kit was that it something the owner can install themselves. This eliminates the need to send the forks to me for the upgrade. I will still be offering the standard fork spring and revalve services and will also be installing these cartridge kits as well.

Pricing is $550-575 depending on model and year. Please send me an email at jamie@daughertymotorsports.com if you are interested in ordering. International orders are welcome.

    Features:

    • All new DMr BD Series compression valving
    • All new DMr BD Series rebound valving
    • Includes springs and spacers for a direct fit
    • New damping rods and adjustable caps
    • Adds external damping adjustment on models not equipped from the factory
    • Valving setup and spring rate configured specifically for each rider and application
    • Utilizes OEM cartridge tubes, no need to pay for what you don't need
    • All valving parts are preassembled
    • Includes detailed instructions for easy installation
    • Made in the USA!

Of course, 3 days after I swap my springs/seals/oil this would come out :sorrow:

Next time I need to get to the seals I guess...

So we're looking at external Preload and Rebound adjustment only here,no external Compression adjustment correct?

Is there anything particularly special about the fork springs used in these fork cartridges Jamie? (Spring length, inner spring diameter, outer spring diameter, etc.)

Namely can RaceTech or any other aftermarket brand of fork spring be used as a suitable replacement when the originals in these fork cartridges wear out?

Correct: compression damping adjustment is located in the fork sliders so that is not something easily added to the caps. I'm working on addressing that but it won't be available for a while.

The springs and spacers are my own, the RT parts can also work but it would be up to you to ensure the preload is correct. Fork springs are good for at least 100k miles, so replacement is not really a concern.

SWEET! Although I have already had both my bikes setup by you, so I'm good for now, BUT I may want to go this route with my 6 Gen, so I can get the rebound adjuster there as well. I will say I am very satisfied with the work you did on my 5 Gen forks (SKF seals and rebound adjusters) and for that matter the setup you provided for my 6 Gen too. This is definitely a good deal for those a little more timid about doing a fork upgrade themselves, plus it saves them from having to remove their forks and ship them off. Good deal Jamie!

I suppose in theory, yes. It only takes about 10-15 minutes to remove the forks and it saves a bunch of hassle. My suggestion is just to pull the legs.
