Well I haven't dropped the VFR, yet. Mainly because I don't have it still and it hasn't been shipped yet.

But I've had a couple tip overs before

    1. 2012 Ninja 250 w/ 128 miles. 1st day of the MSF course and I tipped over right after I stopped, still not sure what I did wrong exactly (might of been cause I was tired?). Very slow and I saved the bike from any damage other then the bar weights on the right side and a slight scratch/gouge on the brake lever. Course considering it's a MSF bike that could have already been there. Surprised, the instructors didn't give a shit and were super worried. Didn't even joke about it at all.

    2. 2012 CBR250R (my current bike) This one was definitely cause of a brain fart from being tired. Started up and tried flipping a bitch from a dead stop at too tight of a corner. Extremely slow so I just scratched the right indicator a hair bit. Course this bike's a ex-MSF bike so again it could have already been there.

I have reserved a prestigious spot just for you on the list CC. I am confident in you. Besides, original post said nothing about it just being VFR dumps.

don't a vfr is not a big deal if its setup with sliders and lower than 5mph and you know how to avoid most damage

Only problem is my VFR is a sexy 86, which may not sound like a problem to most but it is since I can't find sliders for it.

Eh I'll have to have a local place do that. Don't know a thing about welding and if I did my apartment complex wouldn't quite like that. I can get away with a Dremel, but that's about it.

There is no way I am sending you any shoes. Have you developed a foot fetish too? Time to dump that Harley or at least quit hanging oot with those leather bar doods.

Well that was short lived. Got my bike about two weeks ago, got tires and forks down about 1 week ago or so. Now she's down because I got backed into while on the bike. Typical grocery store thing. Had no where to go except down. Coolant, oil and I think fuel leaked.

Paint damage and brake lever snapped.

Wasn't sure if drops because others counted. I don't think there was anything I could do, but maybe I can look back and learn something

Important rule. Bike on ground off tires =bike drop. I will ammend the list when I get home. Hope that idiot was given a speech about "know where the fuck you are backing". Not only will us bikers appreciate this but so will those in wheel chairs and baby strollers. Damn.

After 32 years of being away from bikes and getting divorced a mate at work who was a biker talked me into getting back into bikes 5 months ago. Persuaded me to get a VFR, good allrounder, reliable, plenty fast enough for me etc etc. Found a bike in a local dealer bought it then followed a week of nervously waiting to pick it up. Picked it up, rode home, 15 mins max. Got to my flat where there is a key pad on the sidewalk to open the barrier to the car park. Easy, in my car i drive the car halfway onto the pavement (sidewalk) to lean out the window and put the code in (lazy). No problem rode the bike onto the sidewalk 10 yards before where it is dropped lower and rode along to open it. Oh did i forget to say on the edge of the sidewalk there is a telegraph pole and my bike had panniers and top box? BANG right pannier hit the pole dumping me on my left side, 15 MINS! Beat that! Scared the shit out of me, what am i doing buying a bike? My last bike was a RD 400 top speed 105mph this bike does that in fourth not even trying.

2nd time... Went touring in S Ireland for 6 days. No problems except on the last day pulled up at a ATM to get cash. Got back on the bike, proceeded to do a U turn in the street with a fully laden bike, panniers, top box and tank bag. Got half way through it and just toppled over in front of a load of tourists, to say i felt a twat is an understatement.

3rd time... Rode her to work to show the lads. Got in the car park in front of them flicked the side stand down (so i thought) got off and the bike fell on me! Again a right twat feeling.

Wont recount my very early experiences of years ago, too many.
OK then just one, had an early Suzuki T250J Stinger (great bike) went to the local youth club. Showing off tried to pull a wheelie in front of a load of birds. Front wheel came up and up and up and up you can guess, gravel rash and embarrassed to fook.

Anyway upshot is its the best thing have ever done buying her, cant keep off it.

Sign me up Randy, unless there's a 5 second rule in place.
Came home the other day from my usual work commute, with a typical stop at the local grocery store. Although this time I'd left the garage door opener in my other riding gear, so I got the groceries out of the side cases brought them in the house and got out of my gear. It had just started raining so I went out to push the bike in the garage. As I tried to get it over the hump going into the garage I felt the bike go past the vertical on the opposite side of me. That's when that sinking slow motion feeling kicked in, I tried to hold I for a second and knew that would put my back out so I made the decision to jump over the bike and try to catch it from the other side. I got it just as the peg feeler snapped and it rocked on the crank case. Surprisingly the beast wasn't hard to right, kinda felt like a weeble, might of been the adrenaline.
All in all, for a drop, it turned out not too bad. I've never used the peg feeler anyway and there was only a few other small scratches added to the ones that came with the bike.
The next time I forget the garage door opener I'm driving the bike into the garage.

These garage door opener switches are permanently attached to the bike. This one is for a BMW, however they are now available on in BC for VFRs as well. Arriving in Ontario just in time for Christmas gift shopping.

The big difference between these and regular openers is that the old openers squeek when they get old. These ones squawk.
