I got the oem Honda hard bags and hardware, only one problem they are candy red and my Bike is Black. What to do-paint them Black or leave them red and Black? Brand New OEM Bags:kc10::nelson::lever::vfrshorty: cost me $325 plus maybe $30 IN gas plus $2.00 for two Breakfast egg and bacon sandwiches marked down from $2.59 because it was 1pm and one .99$ iced tea maybe a little less than $360 total. 200 mile ride in my srt-4 with a screwy front end-still fixing it. I also stopped over at she males Farm house.

I think I maybe won't have to paint the oem saddle bags Black vfr car.jpg . The Bags are Black and candy red-it might actually look good-I hope because I can't paint as well as Honda can! Not sure How this will play out- I can paint the bags pretty easy-I will try it first and see how it looks? Red does blend will black because red has black in it.:VFR1200F::jason::cheersaf:

The OEM bags (I have the saddlebags and the matching topcase + the inner Honda matching luggage bags for all three) are all the absolute tits. Buy them. You will never miss the $ you spent on them or think about it again.

You could get creative with some vinyl graphics. Say the traditional Honda wing in black w/ silver outline on the saddlebags. That would leave some red & make a nice contrast.

Where a picture of the bags? $325 sounds like a damn good deal. And what's the story with that little 4 banger SRT? Is that your "muscle car"?

I guess you'll find out soon if you want to paint them black. My bike is asphalt black and my bags are silver, I like the contrast, and besides, I don't see them once I get going.

My old srt-4 broke a axle then I got a new one, but I am doing both sides because I think the other one could break too. The srt-4 neon's had upgraded axles on late 2004-2005-only a year and a half when they came WITH HEAVY DUTY AXLES-my old ones are the weak ones. The part was really worn out after 84,000 miles. I don't go really fast in it any more because it then wants to break parts and they are expensive.

If your referring to the saddlebags check your local craigslist, classified section of this website, ebay. Fellow VFR World member "Thebigtea" has a thread going about an appropriate asking price. Apparently he has a set & top box he's looking to part with. Can't wait to get my Brand New Candy Red and Black OEM saddle bags on, the only thing missing is the hard ware bolts-the bike shop has some zinc coated bolts. I think what I will do is just get the dam bags on then get some aircraft alu or TI bolts later on-they would look really sharp and save some weight. I added GPS to the bike tank bag and changed the OIL to Castrol 2 Qt 10-50RT and 1 qt of 10-40, 1/3 a qt of 10-50 plus extra large Peculator oil filter. Even got the fairing fastners on right..:bluesbros::plane::high5::clap2::madgrin: Fixed up a old gold star airconditioner today too all most fuc it up with cleaning with water-well the dust is out and it works too. A Ducatii 1199 Superleggera has titanium bolts to save weight over the already over-the-top R version.

A 6th gen VFR sport tourer does not need them. What is your obsession with losing weight? You'll save what, a couple of ounces? You mentioned saving weight by replacing the stock windscreen. LOLWUT? Just ride the ride man, dang.

Maybe Atkins diet if your that concerned. Holy crap. Or maybe a race course to make you actually faster.

Also, I've never seen people mix oil like that. That's weird. Don't do that. Just put in a synthetic 10w-30 or 10w-40 like the manual states.

    Also, your cats....LOLWUT?

    Good purchase on bags, btw.

Mixing oil of the same type doesn't hurt anything. I got a custom blend now 10-40-50 w rt synthic. Its just mixing in a little thiner oil with a thicker oil. I think the VFR runs way too hot right now. I need to go 50 mph just so the fan doesn't go on. I wouldn't do that with dino oil however, but I never use dino oil in the motorcycle. I got 5-40-cold weather, 10-40 w cool weather and 10-50 w hot weather. All of these oil a super stuff-Castrol RT snthic. I just thought running all 10-50 was a bit too thick. I got those bags for $325. I think special bolts have a cool factor, also the ones made out of TI or alu aircraft grade would never rust. Maybe some pretty colored bolts would look cool. I am the vfr master. And don't for get my scotts Gold Damper.:smash::laser::kc10::whoops: IMGP0315.jpg IMGP0312.jpg IMGP0302.jpg IMGP0295.jpg

Hey there hero last time I checked the bike is water-cooled, meaning that most of the engine cooling is done by water removing heat from the engine and dispelling it in radiators. Your oil choice in this instance is going to have little effect in keeping your engine cooler. I would never mix oil, don't care if it's bad or not. I run a 5-40 which covers the gamut. VFR's run at normal engine operating temps--around 212. Cars run this, and other motorcycles run 'hot' like this, it's not a bad thing. Now, when you hit 251*F, then something is wrong. Again, consult owners manual.

Zinc covered bolts are that reason for a purpose, so they don't corrode. Your point is moot.

But, no point in arguing with someone who repeatedly prates about the same things.

Do you follow ever thing the manual says to do. I run my tires at 33.5 f and in the back 36.5, I mix the same type od syn motorcycle oil, I run a carbon 2 bos slip-on, I like my scotts damper too, and I never fill up the gas tank too, I run M5 real sport bike tires-I don't like touring tires-too hard. I removed my carbon canister and plugged up one line. My tank bag scratches my tank, I put extra holes for my sliders . I have no foot peg feelers. I don't wave a sixty bikes going down the road all the time. I change my oil early all the time-2,000 miles. I left out a fairing bolt once-too much work to put it back on. I don't care I am missing a plastic screw on the bottom of fairing-actually two.:bootyshake:

As much as your dumb ass drops your bike painting the bags really shouldn't be of concern since your going to destroy $1k worth of luggage within the first week... Also make sure and put 35lbs of sand in the bottom of each one since the VFR is too top heavy for you ya dumb fucking cunt.
