Tired of the leaky Bilt cheapo stuff, was about to pull the trigger on an Aerostich hazmat suit, but was also considering the Motoquest line or Badlands from Klim. Found a brick/mortar with Motoquest stuff in stock 20% off MSRP+no sales tax = better than any current online deals.

The Motoquest line was designed with input from the tour guide company up in Alaska. And it shows. amount of features is ridiculous, but the big plus is the rain liner can be worn under or over the shell. Same with the pants.

Olympia's products have, in my experience, steadily declined in the last 10 years from solid to utter. Given the price on this product (only 20% less than an aerostitch suit), I can't imagine it even remotely measuring up. I also tend to be skeptical of anything that purports to be '4 season' gear.

Just buy the lighter Aerostitch suit if you ride in warm summer scenarios, heavier if you ride in very cold winter weather. It will save you money in the long run - I'd be shocked if anything Olympia made lasted more than 2 or 3 years of heavy use.

This has more ventilation than aerostich products. I've been reading nothing but good things on various forums regarding Olympia and the previous version of this jacket the x-Moto. I'm not sure what there is to be skeptical of.

It includes a rain suit, tons of ventilation for summer riding. Inside thermal layer. I mean is there an extra season you're riding in that earth currently does not experience?

Ok, last brand new Olympia jacket that I had/has following issues:

    1. Brand new stitching was coming undone.
    2. When I pulled the venting velcro apart on the sleeve, a section on each sleeve pulled off of the jacket( I had to re-sew them).
    3. Jacket leaked like hell from the beginning.
    4. Collar velcro too small and weakens too fast.

Why did I keep it? it was given to me by a friend who did not like the fit and waited too long to return it. I purchased another Olympia jacket prior and it leaks, and has poor stitching/quality as well.

That said, I like the fit, functionality, and love the looks, but the quality flat out sucks. This is from a guy who wants to love Olympia, and if they were good I would say so. I am not biased, well, if anything I am being easy on them. I reiterate, their quality sucks and I would not buy another unless they improve drastically.

I think I've seen this same dude on one of the sales channels schlepping knock off perfumes and ballpoint pens that will write in zero G. At least in this pitch he lost the polyester leisure suit and the mullet.

For more of "Anthony" sans the mullet and polyester outfit pitching Rukka goto www.revzilla.com/rukka.

Ya gotta wonder if the model dude really likes Anthony doing the touchy/feely thing.

Is there another company called 'Olympia' that you're referring to? I've owned their products, they are garbage. The notion of paying north of 500 bucks for a jacket made by them is ludicrous to me. Please refer to the owner testimony above, claiming basic construction flaws.

well, I'll be sure to update this thread at some point to say how this craptastic garbage bag with CE armor holds up. I wouldn't be surprised if it just randomly caught fire from all the horrible stitching. Probably won't last 50 miles.

All those folks at ADV who like Olympia gear must be on crack.

But $900 fucking dollars. Whether CDN or USD, thats one shit lot of money for a jacket. Then again, if it is what they claim it is, and I had bought that one in the first place, I probably would have been sitting here with premium beer in hand rather than the bargain PBR

well the horrific unbelievably cheap Olympia rain layer works well for this crappy jacket system. 3 hours rain riding, dry. A stitch did unravel though and take flight with the jet stream. knocked SOW off his bike somewhere.

it works and you don't look like an Aerostich cosmonaut piloting your two wheel Soyuz down the highway.
